Still, through the course of a long campaign, with his improvisational style, Trump has occasionally worded his pledge differently. For example, at his Madison Square Garden rally, Trump said, “On day one, I will launch the largest deportation program in American history to get the criminals out.” Back on May 24, at his rally in the South Bronx, Trump pledged to “immediately begin the largest criminal deportation operation in our country’s history.” So variations in wording aside, when Trump talks about mass deportation, he is talking about the mass deportation of criminals.

It’s hard to imagine opposing Trump’s proposal. Who would want to help murderers and drug dealers who entered the country illegally remain in the United States? Yet we have seen much talk that Trump deportation plans go far, far beyond criminals and will ultimately lead to 10, 15 or perhaps even 20 million people being removed from the country. Part of this is media hysteria. But part of it comes from loose talk by Trump and his advisers.

But the Trump plan has been visible in plain sight for quite a while. First, the new administration will seek to quickly deport those illegal immigrants who are deemed national security threats. At the same time, it will pursue illegal immigrants with criminal records, either in the United States or some other country. And all the while it will assign priority to the illegal migrants whose cases have already been adjudicated and ordered removed.

“You concentrate on the public safety threats and the national security threats first because those are the worst of the worst,” Tom Homan, recently named as Trump’s “border czar,” said over the weekend on Fox News. “So it’s going to be the worst first. That’s how it has to be done. We know a record number of people on the terrorist watch list have crossed this border. We know a record number of terrorists have been released in this country. We have already arrested some [who were] planning attacks. So look, the president is dead-on when he said criminal threats, national security threats are going to be prioritized. And that’s the way it’s going to be.”

There is a clear guide for doing this. Last year, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement reported that as of September 30, 2023, there were 1,292,830 people in the United States illegally who have had full legal due process and have received a final deportation order from an immigration judge. In the ensuing year, there are estimates that number has grown to somewhere between 1.35 million and 1.6 million. […]

The Left Genuinely Feels Beaten https://redwave.press/the-left-genuinely-feels-beaten/ https://redwave.press/the-left-genuinely-feels-beaten/#respond Sun, 17 Nov 2024 03:56:37 +0000 https://redwave.press/the-left-genuinely-feels-beaten/ In yesterday’s post on MSNBC viewership numbers cratering and in yesterday’s FPM+ Town Hall (as well as a future article profiling resistance leaders), I speculated that the energy at least at the moment wasn’t there.

“A key variable may be that there is a lack of energy or desire on the part of the leftist base to do it all again,” I wrote.

Politico has come to the same conclusion with ‘The Resistance Is Not Coming to Save You. It’s Tuning Out’

The anti-Trump books are not roaring out of the gate.

“I talked to a dozen editors last week to check in with them and to see what they were planning to do for political books in a Trump era. They were all exhausted at the thought of doing more anti-Trump books,” the agent said. “It’s like walking out of the stadium in the fourth quarter when your team is down and they played like shit all day. … No one has the energy to go through another four years of publishing this stuff even though the first four years were very good for publishers.”

I’ve seen reports from media people saying that they’re burned out on Trump material. […]

After Election, Biden Admin No Longer Has Anything to Lose https://redwave.press/after-election-biden-admin-no-longer-has-anything-to-lose/ https://redwave.press/after-election-biden-admin-no-longer-has-anything-to-lose/#respond Sat, 09 Nov 2024 01:54:52 +0000 https://redwave.press/after-election-biden-admin-no-longer-has-anything-to-lose/ Before an election, a candidate pretends to be something he or she is not. An incumbent administration usually tries to soften its note so as not to completely alienate the public. But the public has spoken and the Biden-Harris administration is now officially a lame duck operation with nothing left to lose.

And nothing to do except implement its leftist agenda.

Hours after President Donald Trump was declared the winner of the 2024 election, the Biden administration moved Wednesday to limit oil drilling in Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

“Hours after.”

Before the election, there was at least some pretense, but now they’re going all in, poisoning the wells, salting the earth, and protecting their agenda at all costs. And their agenda is a rather ugly one.

In the election runup, the Biden-Harris administration supposedly suspended a sweetheart ‘plea deal’ for 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. It’s back on now. One thing you can pretty much count on is that by the time Trump enters the office, Gitmo will be closed down no matter what it takes. […]

Bringing Out Obama Is Hurting Kamala More Than Helping Her https://redwave.press/bringing-out-obama-is-hurting-kamala-more-than-helping-her/ https://redwave.press/bringing-out-obama-is-hurting-kamala-more-than-helping-her/#comments Mon, 14 Oct 2024 00:34:22 +0000 https://redwave.press/bringing-out-obama-is-hurting-kamala-more-than-helping-her/ Obama acts like he’s the secret weapon for political campaigns. He hides out during primaries, operating from behind the scenes, then waits until the final weeks and shows up with promises to save the day.

But former presidents, no matter how popular, have a limited public lifespan. It’s why they’re only brought out so often. Their political instincts are out of sync, they’re old and the public no longer cares about them.

Since Kamala’s campaign is full of Obama vets, they decided to bring out Barry. But so far Barry has done more harm than good.

The idea was to use Obama to take all sorts of shots at Trump, and he was doing that, and solidify Kamala’s black male vote.

That last part went badly when Obama accused black men of sexism for not fully backing Kamala. The backlash did not take long to arrive.

A former Bernie Sanders campaign adviser slammed former President Barack Obama Thursday for calling out black men who do not support Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Why are Black men being lectured to?” former Democratic Ohio state Sen. Nina Turner said on CNN. “Why are black men being belittled?”

The former national co-chair of the Bernie Sanders 2020 presidential campaign said that Obama was “wrong.”

“Now, a lot of love for former President Obama, but for him to single out black men is wrong, and some of the black men that I have talked to have their reasons why they want to vote a different way, and even if some of us may not like that, we have to respect it,” she said.

Actor Wendell Pierce said Obama’s words sent an “Awful message.”

“The party has to stop scapegoating Black men. Black men aren’t the problem. White men and white women are,” Pierce said in a post on social platform X. […]

All America’s Problems Are Leftist Problems https://redwave.press/all-americas-problems-are-leftist-problems/ https://redwave.press/all-americas-problems-are-leftist-problems/#respond Wed, 09 Oct 2024 13:20:39 +0000 https://redwave.press/all-americas-problems-are-leftist-problems/ The problem with solving problems is that once they are solved, no one needs the solver anymore. The better kinds of problems are recurring problems that ensure customer retention, employing plumbers, locksmiths and police officers, but the best kind are the completely unsolvable problems.

And those are the only kinds of problems that the Left wants to solve.

Given enough human ingenuity and technological development, most problems can concievably be addressed and that is why the Left has to contrive to make them unsolvable by either causing the problem (homelessness), defining it in such a way that it is inherently unsolvable (equity), defining the inappropriate problem while obscuring the actual problem (gun violence) or inventing fake problems (global warming) that can never be solved because they don’t exist in the first place.

Why create unsolvable problems? They’re a virtually infinite source of money and power. […]

Rashida Tlaib Won’t Endorse Kamala Harris https://redwave.press/rashida-tlaib-wont-endorse-kamala-harris/ https://redwave.press/rashida-tlaib-wont-endorse-kamala-harris/#respond Sat, 28 Sep 2024 12:21:28 +0000 https://redwave.press/rashida-tlaib-wont-endorse-kamala-harris/ It’s strange Tlaib won’t endorse her, because if elected, Kamala Harris will do everything the pro-Hamas people want. She’ll push for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, leaving Hamas still standing, able to regroup, and to recruit new members as it brags that it withstood “the mighty Zionist army.“ She’ll want to use American taxpayer dollars to “rebuild” Gaza so that the people there can enjoy the “independence” and “self-determination” and “security” that they “so rightly deserve.” And Harris will push for that will-o’-the-wisp “two-state solution” by pressuring Israel to agree to be squeezed back within the 1949 armistice lines — that Abba Eban famously described as the “lines of Auschwitz” — with a nine-mile-wide waist from Qalqilya to the sea.

That “Palestinian state” — whether run by the PA or by Hamas – when ready will resume attacks on what would then be a much-reduced state of Israel, and with help from other Arabs, strive to achieve the ultimate goal — the replacement of Israel, in its entirety, by the twenty-third Arab state of “Palestine.” More on Tlaib’s refusal to endorse Harris can be found here: “Rashida Tlaib Refuses to Endorse Kamala Harris for President Due to Gaza Policy,” by Corey Walker, Algemeiner, September 13, 2024:

US Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) refused to issue an explicit endorsement of Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris on Thursday, instead encouraging voters to throw their support behind candidates who support a ceasefire in Gaza.

While speaking on a panel at the Annual Legislative Conference in Washington, DC, an event sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Tlaib expressed dismay over Harris’s unwillingness to adopt policies advocated by the pro-Palestinian movement. The Michigan congresswoman suggested that the Harris campaign was taking a “risk” in angering voters by continuing to support Israel’s defensive military operations against the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas in Gaza.

Tlaib told moderator Mehdi Hasan, a progressive journalist and prominent critic of Israel, that some of her constituents in Michigan did not want to cast a ballot for Harris, the incumbent US vice president, because they “don’t want blood on my [sic] hands.”

“I tell them, ‘OK, but there’s other people on this ballot that support a ceasefire. There’s other people on this ballot that can protect our community,’” Tlaib said….

Yes, there is the inimitable Cornell West, World’s Greatest Authority. And the forever candidate Jill Stein. Both of them support “an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.” Cast a vote for them, Tlaib advises, just to show Kamala Harris that she can’t take the Muslim vote for granted. […]

Kamala Losing Among Whites and Hispanics https://redwave.press/kamala-losing-among-whites-and-hispanics/ https://redwave.press/kamala-losing-among-whites-and-hispanics/#respond Wed, 25 Sep 2024 11:07:18 +0000 https://redwave.press/kamala-losing-among-whites-and-hispanics/ With all the mad hype you would think that the Joy candidate during a period of high inflation and general economic misery would be performing well among a large group of Americans.

Instead, the latest Quinnipiac poll shows that Kamala is not only losing white voters 46/50 but also Hispanics 44/52. Notably, these numbers show Trump performing better among Hispanics than he is among whites.

Kamala is winning blacks 83/10 which would be better news if Obama hadn’t won this group 93% to 6%. To paraphrase a certain presidential candidate, I knew Obama, Kamala is not Obama.

Even worse, Kamala isn’t even hitting Biden’s numbers among black voters in 2020. She’s underperforming the old white man she accused of being a racist among black voters. […]

‘State of Palestine’ Takes Seat in UN General Assembly https://redwave.press/state-of-palestine-takes-seat-in-un-general-assembly/ https://redwave.press/state-of-palestine-takes-seat-in-un-general-assembly/#respond Tue, 17 Sep 2024 16:00:01 +0000 https://redwave.press/state-of-palestine-takes-seat-in-un-general-assembly/ The United Nations is currently made up of 193 member nations and two permanent non-member observer states: Vatican City and the “State of Palestine.” The Palestinians, however, are on their way to full member status. The Times of Israel reported Wednesday that “Palestinians took a seat among member states at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, a new right accorded to the Palestinian Authority’s delegation despite it not being a full member of the body.” This is how the UN responds to jihad terrorism: by rewarding those who engage in it.

The initiative to give the “State of Palestine” a seat in the General Assembly began six months after Palestinians murdered 1,200 Israelis on Oct. 7, 2023. “In May,” the Times of Israel notes, “an overwhelming majority of the General Assembly asserted that Palestinians deserved full membership, a move that has been blocked by the United States, which along with Israel says recognition of Palestinian statehood must come through a peace agreement.” One of the conditions of Palestinian statehood has always been that the “State of Palestine” recognize Israel’s right to exist, and pledge to live in peace with it. That is something that Palestinian leaders have never been willing to do.

Nevertheless, the UN charged ahead with the plans to reward the Palestinians, apparently under the delusion that a Palestinian state will end all the strife. Thus, “starting with the 79th General Assembly session, which began Tuesday, the Palestinians can submit proposals and amendments, and sit among member states.” Riyad Mansour, the envoy of the “State of Palestine” to the UN, “took his place on Tuesday afternoon at a table marked “State of Palestine” between Sri Lanka and Sudan.” […]
