Operation Rescue obtained a copy of the indictment which lists felony charges for both Carpenter and her company, Nightingale Medical.

Operation Rescue has repeatedly sounded the alarm about the “virtual back-alley” of chemical abortions, especially in its most recent Annual Survey, which showed that virtual pill suppliers like Carpenter have tripled in number.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Carpenter, who is already facing a civil lawsuit in Texas for the same illegal act: providing abortions pills through the mail in a state where preborn persons are legally protected. The woman in the Texas case also ended up in the emergency room due to severe bleeding. Carpenter has no license to practice medicine in either state.

The minor’s mother was also indicted. According to District Attorney Tony Clayton, the mother procured the pills from Carpenter through nothing more than an online survey. After the girl ingested the pills, her mother apparently left her alone. No one was with the girl when she called 911. […]

The Ensuring Justice for Victims of Partial-Birth Abortion Act would ensure compliance with the ban on partial birth abortions by forcing the attorney general to investigate any violations of the law and would require the Department of Justice (DOJ) to compile an annual report of such violations. The bill was prompted after several aborted babies, known as the “DC Five,” were discovered discarded outside of a Washington, D.C. abortion clinic, at least one of which is believed to have been killed as part of a partial birth abortion.

“The DC-Five were innocent babies weeks from birth before their lives were brutally and barbarically snuffed out,” Self said in a statement announcing the bill. “DC authorities can no longer turn a blind eye to the law. I am hopeful that between President Trump’s pro-life agenda and this bill that strengthens enforcement of the PBABA, the rule of law will be enforced as it pertains to the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act.”

Partial birth abortions are defined as “an abortion in which a physician deliberately and intentionally vaginally delivers a living, unborn child’s body until either the entire baby’s head is outside the body of the mother, or any part of the baby’s trunk past the navel is outside the body of the mother and only the head remains inside the womb, for the purpose of performing an overt act (usually the puncturing of the back of the child’s skull and removing the baby’s brains) that the person knows will kill the partially delivered infant, performs this act, and then completes delivery of the dead infant,” according to the original legislation.

AAPLOG’s letter asks Republicans consider the importance of pro-life causes during the confirmation hearings of Dr. Marty Makary, the nominee to head the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, the nominee for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) director and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump’s pick to lead the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The organization called for the administration to revisit the safety of the abortion pill, which has already faced several legal challenges due to claims that numerous precautions were ignored in order to rush its approval.

“As you know, HHS has the most influential role of any governmental agency over those of us practicing life-affirming medicine and in ensuring the protection of conscience rights,” the letter, shared with the Daily Caller News Foundation, reads. “As such, the leaders of the Food and Drug Administration, the National Institutes of Health, and HHS overall are vitally important nominees for our confidence in the advancement of life-affirming policies over the next four years. We are heartened to hear the positive reports regarding the meetings many of you have had with these nominees on these topics.”

The medical organization proposed the nominees be asked to commit to enforcing stronger safety regulations around the abortion pill mifepristone and that they reconsider allowing the drug to be prescribed through telehealth. The nominees should also be asked to stand up for conscience rights for medical students and state a gestational limit they would impose on abortion, the letter stated.

Other people go further still! They argue that some behavior that seems unloving to one person may actually be a loving act when someone else commits it.

Amazingly, one of the latest lines of defense of abortion is to go on the offensive: adopt that bizarre notion that the act of taking your unborn child’s life is really an act of love.

Some abortion providers now urge women to write love letters to their children before aborting them, simultaneously an act of co-opting criticism and ennobling the ignoble. One such form letter was published in a city newspaper and began with the words, “Dear Baby….”

“Dear Baby: I believe you will be better off in heaven. I am not sure I could provide you with a stable and healthy environment. I do not feel that emotionally or financially I could care for your every need.

“In forecasting my future, a dismal and grim picture is all that I can imagine. I hope you can understand my reasoning and can forgive me. I will see you in heaven. Love, Mom.”

Women are sometimes coerced into having an abortion to maintain the love of the father (who more often than not will abandon her after the child is dead anyway). Others convince themselves that the abortion is done for the “good of the baby,” another act of “love.” […]
