GOP politicians have a history of not handling success well. I can’t be precise about how long this has been the case, but this past spring marked my 40th anniversary as a Republican/conservative activist and it’s been that way in all that time.

Every once in a while a Republican politician will act like he or she won an election — Ronald Reagan, Newt Gingrich, and President-elect Donald Trump come immediately to mind — but it doesn’t happen often enough.

It is both mind-blowing and disheartening to see how the GOP behaves when it has a majority in Congress. Rather than take advantage of what they know is a temporary situation, congressional Republicans often act apologetic for having been popular with the voters. They behave as if they are unworthy of being in charge of things.

Instead of legislating, they showboat. Republicans are very good at grandstanding, holding hearings, and giving press conferences to make it seem as if they’re responding to their constituents but never really doing anything. Beltway Republicans gravitate towards comfort and seem to have an almost sexual fetish for the status quo.

Yeah, that’s got to stop. […]

Trump Administration Must Prioritize Cybersecurity https://redwave.press/trump-administration-must-prioritize-cybersecurity/ https://redwave.press/trump-administration-must-prioritize-cybersecurity/#respond Wed, 11 Dec 2024 13:32:16 +0000 https://redwave.press/trump-administration-must-prioritize-cybersecurity/ As America winds down from four years of horrific mismanagement at the hands of the incompetent Biden administration, few issues stand as glaringly urgent as America’s cyber vulnerabilities. For President Trump, who is returning to the Oval Office amid a torrent of pressing global concerns, cybersecurity represents a battlefield that demands not only rhetoric, but bold, decisive action.

It is a battlefield plagued with the potholes of bureaucratic inertia, technological lag, and perhaps most alarmingly, a talent shortage that threatens to leave the U.S. woefully unprepared for the cyber onslaughts ahead.

Microsoft, the Silicon Valley titan that holds the reins of countless federal contracts, has emerged as an unexpected cheerleader for stronger cybersecurity efforts from the Trump administration. Brad Smith, Microsoft’s president, has issued urgent calls for the U.S. government to take a tougher stance on cyberattacks emanating from Russia, China, and Iran. However, before we rush to brand Microsoft as the paladin of cybersecurity, let us not forget the tech giant’s patchy track record.

Despite pocketing hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to bolster U.S. cyber defenses, Microsoft has been implicated in hundreds of breaches, many of them alarmingly high profile. Critics might say this is akin to hiring a security guard who leaves the vault door ajar and then suggests installing more locks. Yet Microsoft’s calls are not without merit; the company has a point when urging the administration to tackle state-sponsored Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) groups with greater urgency.

Speaking of APTs, the danger posed by state-sponsored hacking collectives is as pervasive as it is sophisticated. Countries including Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea have turned cyber warfare into a lucrative national sport. China’s Gelsemium group, for instance, has been linked to a sinister Linux backdoor called WolfsBane, a malware capable of infiltrating critical systems with stealthy precision. Meanwhile, Russia’s Cozy Bear and Fancy Bear groups continue to target Western governments, private enterprises, and election systems with brazen impunity. […]

How to Stop Trans Insanity in Women’s Sports https://redwave.press/how-to-stop-trans-insanity-in-womens-sports/ https://redwave.press/how-to-stop-trans-insanity-in-womens-sports/#respond Tue, 03 Dec 2024 10:09:12 +0000 https://redwave.press/how-to-stop-trans-insanity-in-womens-sports/ The trans madness continues, as biological males continue to smash glass ceilings and female faces in women’s sports. This past Monday, a Marxist activist in a black robe decreed that neither civil rights nor biological science factor into his reasoning process, and that biological male Brayden Fleming has every right to continue playing for the San Jose Spartans girls volleyball team. Brayden goes by his stage name Blaire, but I’ll be referring to him as Brayden.

Without a hint of irony, judge Kato Crews opined that the delay caused by the filed injunction “would risk confusion.” Um…I’d say there’s already plenty of “confusion” afoot, and not on the part of the plaintiffs. He also wrote that the cheated girls have failed to show “irreparable harm.” Um…I’d like to see the X-ray results from that girl whom Brayden spiked in the face before we can rule out the claim that any harm was done.

Conservative writers have spent oodles of time making a priori arguments as to why men should not be allowed in women’s sports. My intention here is not to spill more ink on that. At this point, if you still think men belong in women’s sports, there are no conclusions we can logically draw other than you’re a misogynist, you support sexual predators, or that you’re on a postmodernist binge to destroy as much of Western culture and its social norms as possible. You’re despicable, and I have nothing more to say to you.

But, as with all things left, full steam ahead. Neither election results nor public opinion nor established law nor the safety of innocents nor basic decency were ever serious impediments to a leftist with a Cause. Yes, we have the Trump presidency due to arrive shortly, but even he will only be able to do so much to stop this madness. What’s needed are grassroots movements on a major, nationwide scale, from the victims themselves.

To the girls being robbed of championships, the girls having scholarships stolen, the girls being injured, the girls being sexually assaulted, and their female teammates wondering if they’re next, America’s adults are failing you. Your politicians, your schools, and many of your parents have failed you. It shouldn’t be on you to fight this fight. It shouldn’t even BE a fight. But in this crazy world we inhabit, this fight is unfortunately upon you. And by and large, America’s adults have pulled their hats down, put their hands in their pockets, and looked down at their feet, hoping not to catch the attention of the frothing maniacs pushing trans cult conformity. It’s one thing to vote against it from the privacy of the voting booth. It’s another thing to stand up in your defense publicly in the sports arena. […]

Censorship Victim Warns MAGA: Don’t Trust Zuckerberg https://redwave.press/censorship-victim-warns-maga-dont-trust-zuckerberg/ https://redwave.press/censorship-victim-warns-maga-dont-trust-zuckerberg/#respond Tue, 03 Dec 2024 09:12:40 +0000 https://redwave.press/censorship-victim-warns-maga-dont-trust-zuckerberg/ Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is kissing up to President-elect Donald Trump, trying to worm his way into the MAGA sphere and pretend he is enthusiastic for reform. But as a victim of devastating Facebook censorship warned, Zuckerberg is not to be trusted, especially since he has yet to apologize to and restore the data for multiple users whose lives were transformed by online censorship.

When Zuckerberg issued a semi-apologetic letter and made a phone call to Trump over the summer, many conservatives, and Donald Trump himself, were delighted. Since then, Facebook censorship — including election-interfering censorship — continued unabated. Like many a careful businessman before him, Zuckerberg was covering his bases in case Trump won the election, without actually changing his and his employees’ behavior. As #WalkAway campaign leader Brandon Straka warned, don’t fall for Zuckerberg’s new act, especially not until he shows he really has repented of and tried to make restitution for his former actions.

In 2021, Zuckerberg and co. banned Trump from their platforms, in one of the most flagrant instances of politically biased censorship. Now Trump is coming into office again, and Zuckerberg is down in Mar-a-Lago playing up to the president-elect his platforms previously silenced. At least one Trump advisor seems inclined to believe Zuckerberg is sincere. I think the Trump team is falling far too easily for self-serving flattery.

On Nov. 29, Straka posted his cautionary tale against relying on the manipulative declarations of Mark Zuckerberg. “Facebook banned the #WalkAway Campaign group (over 511K members) and all of the thousands of stories of the people who joined and bravely shared why they were walking away- with no justification, no explanation, and no path for appeal,” he explained.

Back in 2021, the #WalkAway leaders woke up one morning to find their Facebook accounts abruptly deleted. That included years of data, even business data, changing the lives of the #WalkAway campaigners, who were disillusioned Democrats joining together to seek political alternatives. “[Facebook] also permanently banned the accounts of every person who was an admin of our group- which destroyed people’s personal businesses and deleted all of their cherished memories that were stored on the platform,” Straka stated. “There’s been no apology, no acknowledgment, and no attempt to make this right. It’s not enough for Zuckerberg to want to join us. He has an obligation to make amends by thoroughly changing his platform and reinstating wrongfully banned accounts.” Straka and #WalkAway were also targeted on Twitter after politicians and activists demanded censorship, as the Twitter Files illustrated. Trump Really Screwed the Pooch With His Surgeon General Nomination https://redwave.press/trump-really-screwed-the-pooch-with-his-surgeon-general-nomination/ https://redwave.press/trump-really-screwed-the-pooch-with-his-surgeon-general-nomination/#respond Wed, 27 Nov 2024 03:45:05 +0000 https://redwave.press/trump-really-screwed-the-pooch-with-his-surgeon-general-nomination/ In the grand scheme of things, “Surgeon General” is a wasteful and often counterproductive (assuming the goal is actually improving public health and not advancing special interests) position that Trump should do away with entirely.

No one needs a sleazy bureaucrat in a silly admiral costume using their tax money to tell them how to live their lives — much less issuing pseudoscientific edicts for unclear and nefarious purposes, as we have been subject to for many years now.

What we need, in my opinion and apparently millions of other Americans’ given the recent election results, is a bulldog like RFK Jr., doctor or not, to clean up the water, air, drug, and food supplies through — and I know this is anathema to conservative orthodoxy, but I believe it’s necessary in the real world with bad industry actors who don’t care about human health and often, indeed, seem hellbent on ruining it — regulations.

But anyway, if this government bloat is to continue in perpetuity, the Surgeon General ought rightly to be someone exactly not like Janette Nesheiwat, Trump’s nominee.

Via Politico (emphasis added):

President-elect Donald Trump said Friday he has chosen Dr. Janette Nesheiwat to serve as surgeon general in his new administration.

Nesheiwat is a Fox News medical contributor and serves as a medical director at CityMD, a network of urgent care centers in New York and New Jersey.

“Dr. Nesheiwat is a fierce advocate and strong communicator for preventive medicine and public health,” Trump said* in a statement. “She is committed to ensuring that Americans have access to affordable, quality healthcare, and believes in empowering individuals to take charge of their health to live longer, healthier lives*.”

Nesheiwat, who specialized in emergency and family medicine, has supported vaccines that Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump’s nominee for HHS secretary, has cast doubts about**. […]

The Problem With Self-Absorbed Singleness https://redwave.press/the-problem-with-self-absorbed-singleness/ https://redwave.press/the-problem-with-self-absorbed-singleness/#respond Sat, 23 Nov 2024 12:21:44 +0000 https://redwave.press/the-problem-with-self-absorbed-singleness/ Every American, whether Republican or Democrat, gets an image in their heads when they hear the phrase “childless cat lady.” The ornery, wild-haired crone. The dilapidated house and overgrown weeds. The outdated, peeling wallpaper and dusty cookbooks. Boxes of broken and mismatched bric-a-brac, their existence long since forgotten until a naïve caretaker suggests she throw it out, at which time she furiously declares it a priceless treasure.

And cats. Everywhere, cats. Pampered cats and emaciated cats. Purchased cats and stray cats, vaccinated cats and feral cats, live cats and dead cats. And cat hair. And opened cans of cat food. And cat waste. On the carpet. On the furniture. On the bed. On the countertops.

Such is the fantasy of code enforcement officers the nation over. But when the media dug up an old clip of J.D. Vance criticizing “childless cat ladies,” the Left collapsed into its usual, predictable hysterics. USA Today chummed the waters and found plenty of grievance studies professors and abortion activists who claimed Vance is “absolutely terrified of the power of American women” and intends to “keep women barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen with no human rights.”

His comment was intentionally misrepresented as an attack on women (and couples) unable to have kids, who adopt kids, or who can’t afford kids. But anyone who listened to his complete sentence would not have derived any of this. He also criticized corporate oligarchs, but the Left wasn’t going to let that get in the way of a good ol’ edited soundbite.

Vance’s criticism of “childless cat ladies” was that people who willingly choose to not have children for selfish reasons are detrimental to the advancement and continuation of our society. And he’s right, for two reasons. […]

Good News for Republicans — Dems Don’t Grasp How Fringe and Cringe Their Coastal Elites Are https://redwave.press/good-news-for-republicans-dems-dont-grasp-how-fringe-and-cringe-their-coastal-elites-are/ https://redwave.press/good-news-for-republicans-dems-dont-grasp-how-fringe-and-cringe-their-coastal-elites-are/#respond Sat, 23 Nov 2024 05:32:38 +0000 https://redwave.press/good-news-for-republicans-dems-dont-grasp-how-fringe-and-cringe-their-coastal-elites-are/ While schadenfreude certainly plays a big part in my current obsession with reading Democrats’ post-mortem analyses of why they got KO’d by a roundhouse punch they never saw coming in the 2024 presidential election, I am also deriving great comfort from the fact most of them haven’t the slightest idea why they failed.

That’s good news for freedom lovers.

I was very reluctant to make any predictions for this election. My pessimism was well documented, but I still never said that I knew what would happen in the end. There was, however, one thing that I repeated in conversations, podcasts, videos, and writing that I got right. Since Joe Biden got into office in 2021, the supposed “moderate” Democrat had his party take an immediate hard left turn and hit the gas. Yeah, we know that it was really the people running his brain who did that, but it happened nonetheless.

As I watched the already progressive Democratic Party rush headlong to see how far left it could go, I was convinced that the party’s radical coastal elites were leaving behind regular Democrats in the rest of the country. That conviction grew stronger this election year. I repeatedly said that I couldn’t believe that Joe and Edna Democrat in Flyover, USA were on board with drag queen story hours and pro-criminal prosecutors.

We now know that they weren’t. In fact, there were rightward shifts even in deep blue states, indicating that some Democrats want the progs to pump the brakes on the raging lefty garbage. One of those pro-criminal prosecutors was tossed out on his ear by voters in Los Angeles. […]

The Most Pro-Trump Ethnicity Was NOT White People: Why 65% of Native Americans Voted MAGA https://redwave.press/the-most-pro-trump-ethnicity-was-not-white-people-why-65-of-native-americans-voted-maga/ https://redwave.press/the-most-pro-trump-ethnicity-was-not-white-people-why-65-of-native-americans-voted-maga/#respond Tue, 19 Nov 2024 11:52:28 +0000 https://redwave.press/the-most-pro-trump-ethnicity-was-not-white-people-why-65-of-native-americans-voted-maga/ It was, perhaps, the biggest surprise of NBC News’ 2024 exit polling: A whopping 65% of American Indians voted for Trump. (Just 34% picked Harris.) That significantly outpaces the 57% of white voters who chose Trump.

And if that wasn’t enough, 17 Indian-majority counties turned Republican red on Election Day.

Because the Democratic Party sees everything through a convoluted racial hierarchy, these results were absolutely jaw-dropping. After all, on the liberal “minority pyramid,” indigenous Americans are at the very top! They’re ahead of the blacks, ahead of the trans, ahead of the Latinos Latinx, ahead of the Jews (obviously), and ahead of the Muslims. When it comes to collective suffering, the Native Americans are in a class of their own.

So why did the Red Man vote for the Orange Man?

It could be that they figured red and orange were close enough. (Hey, they’re right next to each other on the color wheel! That practically makes ‘em neighbors!) Or maybe they could relate to Trump and his history of owning casinos? […]

Here Are The Top Contenders to Replace JD Vance in the Senate https://redwave.press/here-are-the-top-contenders-to-replace-jd-vance-in-the-senate/ https://redwave.press/here-are-the-top-contenders-to-replace-jd-vance-in-the-senate/#respond Tue, 19 Nov 2024 05:52:44 +0000 https://redwave.press/here-are-the-top-contenders-to-replace-jd-vance-in-the-senate/ With the Trump-Vance ticket victorious, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine now faces the critical task of appointing JD Vance’s successor in the Senate. These moments often bring heightened drama. After Barack Obama’s 2008 election, controversy erupted when then-Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich was accused of attempting to “sell” Obama’s vacated Senate seat. He reportedly discussed potential candidates in secretive and illicit dealings with Barack Obama himself.

According to a report from Fox News Digital, “elevating women is important to DeWine and that he would like to appoint a woman to the seat, although gender is not the deciding factor.”

Republican Jane Timken, an Ohio attorney who served as chair of the Ohio Republican Party from 2017 to 2021, is also widely considered to be another potential Vance replacement.

Other candidates reportedly in the mix include Ohio’s Republican Secretary of State Frank LaRose, Republican Lt. Gov. Jon Husted, Attorney General Dave Yost, Treasurer Robert Sprague and State Sen. Matt Dolan.

Yost, who has said he wouldn’t accept the position, and Husted are believed to be focused on the upcoming governor’s race to replace DeWine. Former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy had been floated as a possibility but he recently accepted a position in the Trump administration and withdrew his name.

Three Republicans currently serving in Congress – Reps. Mike Carey, David Joyce and Warren Davidson – are believed to be options as well.

Carey, who has strong relationships with both Trump and DeWine, reached out to DeWine shortly after Vance was selected, a source familiar with the discussion said this summer. […]

Bill Maher Drops Major Truth Bombs About Why the Left Is Losing https://redwave.press/bill-maher-drops-major-truth-bombs-about-why-the-left-is-losing/ https://redwave.press/bill-maher-drops-major-truth-bombs-about-why-the-left-is-losing/#respond Sun, 17 Nov 2024 13:30:20 +0000 https://redwave.press/bill-maher-drops-major-truth-bombs-about-why-the-left-is-losing/ Bill Maher delivered a scathing monologue on his HBO show Friday night, that took aim at the increasingly radical left, calling them out for why they lost the 2024 election.

Maher didn’t mince words when he outlined the disconnect between the Democratic Party elite and the average American voter. He took the left to task for pushing divisive and impractical ideas that make them completely out of touch with the people they claim to represent. I disagree with Maher on so many things, but what’s really refreshing about Maher’s commentary—especially when you overlook his anti-conservative rhetoric—is that he’s willing to call out his own party for the mess they’ve made and challenge them to rethink their strategies.

He began by mocking the left’s inability to learn from their mistakes, saying, “when you’re in a hole, stop digging, not keep digging.” As Maher sees it, their refusal to adjust has resulted in a disconnect from the very voters they need to win over.

“You wear Queers for Palestine T-shirts and masks two years after the pandemic ended, and you can’t define woman—I mean, person who menstruates. You’re the Teachers Union Education Party, and you’ve turned schools and colleges into a joke.”

He added, “You love to speak truth to power, and we always should, but you have completely lost the ability to speak truth to bulls**t.” […]
