They Should Seize It. https://redwave.press/the-media-has-a-major-opportunity-with-the-matt-gaetz-saga-they-should-seize-it/ https://redwave.press/the-media-has-a-major-opportunity-with-the-matt-gaetz-saga-they-should-seize-it/#respond Tue, 19 Nov 2024 10:48:38 +0000 https://redwave.press/the-media-has-a-major-opportunity-with-the-matt-gaetz-saga-they-should-seize-it/ It has been years since the allegations that now-former Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz had “paid for sex,” or “had sex with a minor,” or “had drug-fueled orgies with sex-trafficked women.” The allegations became enragingly outlandish for a man who, as a self-proclaimed libertarian in his youth, had straightened up in Congress, married the love of his life, and was intent on focusing on his firebrand populism to deliver for his constituents.

It is no coincidence that the knives were out for one of the few Members of the House of Representatives who does not take campaign donations from moneyed, corporate interests, nor Political Action Committees (PACs). In taking this conscientious stand, Gaetz found himself in the crosshairs of the irate establishment from his very first day on Capitol Hill.

Since then, his star has only risen with the Make America Great Again (MAGA) base and, indeed, with President Trump himself. It seemed for a while that his career in politics may well have culminated with his heroic ouster of Speaker Kevin McCarthy, especially given McCarthy’s predictable “I’m going to ruin you” response.

But despite having had the kitchen sink thrown at him in terms of lurid allegations, internecine primary challenges, and more, Gaetz is not just still standing but is running, not walking, toward the fire.

This presents a rare opportunity for America’s media—one they are unlikely to seize. […]

Lee Zeldin Will Head Trump EPA https://redwave.press/breaking-lee-zeldin-will-head-trump-epa/ https://redwave.press/breaking-lee-zeldin-will-head-trump-epa/#respond Wed, 13 Nov 2024 00:10:30 +0000 https://redwave.press/breaking-lee-zeldin-will-head-trump-epa/ President-elect Donald J. Trump has tapped former Representative Lee Zeldin (R-NY) to head the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in his new administration. Trump says Zeldin “has been a true fighter for America First policies” and “will ensure fair and swift deregulatory decisions that will be enacted to unleash the power of American businesses, while at the same time maintaining the highest environmental standards, including the cleanest air and water on the planet.”

“I am deeply honored to have been asked by President Trump to serve in his Cabinet. As EPA Administrator, we will restore American energy dominance, revitalize our auto industry to bring back American jobs, make the United States the global leader of Artificial Intelligence advancement, and slash the red tape holding back American workers from upward economic mobility,” Zeldin said.

“We will accomplish all this while conserving our environment, protecting access to clean air and water, and keeping the American people healthy. I look forward to contributing to President Trump’s agenda to build a more prosperous future for our nation,” he added. […]

Newly Registered Women Dominate Early Voting in PA, But Men Are Flooding It in AZ https://redwave.press/newly-registered-women-dominate-early-voting-in-pa-but-men-are-flooding-it-in-az/ https://redwave.press/newly-registered-women-dominate-early-voting-in-pa-but-men-are-flooding-it-in-az/#respond Sun, 03 Nov 2024 03:16:59 +0000 https://redwave.press/newly-registered-women-dominate-early-voting-in-pa-but-men-are-flooding-it-in-az/ As of October 30, nearly 60 million Americans have already voted in the presidential election. There has been a notable influx of new voters in the vital swing states of Pennsylvania and Arizona from demographics that favor Vice Kamala Harris and former President Donald J. Trump, respectively.

In Pennsylvania, data indicates an increase in newly registered female Democratic voters. This trend could influence the election’s outcome. To date, Pennsylvania has seen over 100,000 new voters participate early. Conversely, in Arizona, the emergence of new male Republican voters is prominent, with early voting numbers already surpassing the 2020 margin of just 10,457 votes.

New voters who didn’t participate in 2020 are pivotal, as they may alter the landscape compared to the previous election. While the specific choices of these voters remain unknown, those who register as Democrats likely lean towards Harris, while Republican registrants likely lean towards Trump.

In North Carolina and Nevada, the largest category among new voters is those unaffiliated with any party. Their choices could significantly impact the election.

As new voter participation already exceeds previous election margins in several swing states, such individuals are set to play a decisive role in a closely contested electoral landscape. […]

“The Barry County Sheriff’s Office has an ongoing investigation into election related crimes since December 2020,” a statement from Sheriff Dar Leaf explains, confirming the Michigan law office “has made referrals for criminal ingestion to the Texas Attorney General’s Office.”

It adds that the Texas Attorney General has “opened a criminal investigation related to Dominion Voting Systems, Election Systems & Software (ES&S), Hart InterCivic, and SolarWinds, including specific subcontractors, agents, and employees.”

Sheriff Lar pledges to continue assisting Paxton as the investigation unfolds.

Dominion voting machines are already stirring controversy in the 2024 election amid ongoing early voting. Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson has confirmed that some terminals are experiencing issues nationwide with split-ticket ballots. […]

Trump Invites Muslim Man Ejected From Harris Rally to Star in Ad https://redwave.press/trump-invites-muslim-man-ejected-from-harris-rally-to-star-in-ad/ https://redwave.press/trump-invites-muslim-man-ejected-from-harris-rally-to-star-in-ad/#respond Thu, 31 Oct 2024 21:41:47 +0000 https://redwave.press/trump-invites-muslim-man-ejected-from-harris-rally-to-star-in-ad/ Over the weekend, the campaign of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris expelled a Muslim man from a rally in Michigan, prompting the campaign of Donald J. Trump to offer him a place in a new campaign ad. Ahmed Ghanim, a Democrat and former congressional candidate, was contacted by Donald Trump’s campaign about appearing in an advertisement shortly after being ejected from a Harris rally in Michigan without explanation.

Ghanim, who had challenged a pro-Israel member of Congress earlier this year, declined the offer but has been deeply critical of the Harris campaign. He criticized Harris’s campaign for inadequate engagement with Arab and Muslim voters, noting the potential benefit for Trump.

Ghanim had been present at the rally to observe, not protest, but was escorted out by security after being directed to leave. His subsequent social media post, “No Muslims allowed at the Harris Rally in Michigan,” drew considerable attention.

Ghanim recognized the strategic timing of Trump’s outreach to him, suggesting it might influence some Muslim voters.

In September, the mayor of Hamtramck, a city in Michigan with a Muslim-majority population, stated his support for Trump. Mayor Amer Ghalib called Trump a man of principles and expressed confidence in his leadership. […]

These Numbers Are Freaking Democrats Out https://redwave.press/these-numbers-are-freaking-democrats-out/ https://redwave.press/these-numbers-are-freaking-democrats-out/#respond Thu, 31 Oct 2024 05:12:33 +0000 https://redwave.press/these-numbers-are-freaking-democrats-out/ With just a week to go before the conclusion of the 2024 U.S. elections, new data shows President Donald J. Trump with a healthy lead over the Democratic nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris, in Arizona. The latest survey has Trump sitting at a comfortable 50 percent of the vote, while Harris has fallen to just 42 percent. Meanwhile, in the U.S. Senate race, Republican Kari Lake leads narrowly for the first time over far-left Representative Ruben Gallego (D-AZ).

The National Pulse’s Editor-in-Chief, Raheem Kassam, noted yesterday on X (formerly Twitter) that the Trump campaign’s internal polling suggested they were putting significant distance between themselves and Harris in several critical battleground states. It would appear that the Data Orbital poll of Arizona released on Tuesday reflects similar momentum. Should Trump win Arizona by a healthy margin, his coattails are likely to help Lake best Gallego as well.

Gallego, a far-left member of the Democratic Party, has been the subject of voter ire over his support for the Biden-Harris government’s radical open-border policies and his ignoring of the Chinese Communist Party’s influence in American politics.

The National Pulse reported in early October that Gallego’s allegedly estranged father was arrested in Chicago for punching his landlady after she attempted to collect overdue rent. A Mexican national and immigrant visa holder, Jose Angel Marinelarena has previously been convicted of drug trafficking.

Arizona is considered one of a handful of must-win swing states for both the Trump and Harris campaigns. However, voter data indicates that in recent weeks, the state has shifted away from Democrats and towards Trump. A Trump and Lake win in Arizona would push Republicans much closer to capturing both the White House and a Senate majority. […]

Nate Silver Predicts Trump Victory. https://redwave.press/nate-silver-predicts-trump-victory/ https://redwave.press/nate-silver-predicts-trump-victory/#respond Fri, 25 Oct 2024 17:37:46 +0000 https://redwave.press/nate-silver-predicts-trump-victory/ Nate Silver, known for his analytical work at FiveThirtyEight, predicts a victory for former President Donald J. Trump in November. In a piece published in the New York Times on Wednesday, Silver writes, “In an election where the seven battleground states are all polling within a percentage point or two, 50-50 is the only responsible forecast… Yet when I deliver this unsatisfying news, I inevitably get a question: ‘C’mon, Nate, what’s your gut say?’ So OK, I’ll tell you. My gut says Donald Trump.”

Silver believes his gut feeling may resonate with “many anxious Democrats.” Previously, Democrat pollsters have expressed fear that Trump’s support is being significantly undercounted, as it was in 2016 and 2020, which would turn tight margins between Trump and Harris into comfortable leads for the America First leader.

“What accentuates my concern is when you poll people who have not voted in ’20 but are planning to vote today, they are disproportionately Trump voters,” said pollster Celinda Lake in September.

Silver is skeptical that there are “shy Trump voters” who mislead pollsters but believes there may be merit to the idea that the former president’s supporters have a “nonresponse bias.” They “often have lower civic engagement and social trust, so they can be less inclined to complete a survey from a news organization,” he observes.

On his election prediction more broadly, Silver cautions people against placing too much credence on his instinct or anyone else’s. He emphasizes, “A 50-50 forecast really does mean 50-50.” […]

Trump Bursts Through 50% Mark in Arizona https://redwave.press/trump-bursts-through-50-mark-in-arizona/ https://redwave.press/trump-bursts-through-50-mark-in-arizona/#respond Sun, 20 Oct 2024 00:16:09 +0000 https://redwave.press/trump-bursts-through-50-mark-in-arizona/ The latest election data from the critical swing state of Arizona shows that President Donald J. Trump is leading his Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, 51 to 48 percent. With just over two-and-a-half weeks until Election Day, Trump’s three-point lead indicates that the Republican nominee is gaining momentum—likely across the entire Sun Belt.

According to YouGov’s survey conducted between October 11 and 16 on behalf of CBS, nearly 70 percent of Arizonans say things in America today are going somewhat or very badly. Meanwhile, 65 percent of those surveyed say they believe the current economic conditions are fairly or very bad.

Sixty-seven percent of respondents indicate they frequently think about the 2024 presidential election, while an additional 26 percent say they think about the race at least some of the time. When asked if they would reconsider supporting either Trump or Harris, over 90 percent of respondents indicated their minds were made up—suggesting the electorate has calcified in the closing days of the presidential race. Also troubling for the Harris campaign, nearly 60 percent of Trump voters indicated they’re supporting the Republican nominee because they like him as a candidate. Just 44 percent said the same of Harris.

THE ECONOMY.

The economy dominates as the top issue for Arizona voters. An overwhelming 82 percent of respondents listed it as a major factor in their candidate choice. Notably, Arizona and Nevada are two states that have reported being hit especially hard by inflation and high prices under the Biden-Harris government.

Among those surveyed, 49 percent said they believe their financial situation will be worse under Harris, while 30 percent say they’d be better off. Conversely, 46 percent said they believe they’ll be better off under Trump, with 39 percent saying they would be worse off. […]

Trump Earns Coveted Newspaper Endorsement Which Could Flip Swing State. https://redwave.press/trump-earns-coveted-newspaper-endorsement-which-could-flip-swing-state/ https://redwave.press/trump-earns-coveted-newspaper-endorsement-which-could-flip-swing-state/#respond Tue, 15 Oct 2024 05:23:22 +0000 https://redwave.press/trump-earns-coveted-newspaper-endorsement-which-could-flip-swing-state/ The Las Vegas Review-Journal is throwing its support behind former President Donald J. Trump, emphasizing his proven leadership, economic accomplishments, and ability to handle foreign policy challenges. The newspaper describes the current political landscape as unsettling, with “political norms strewn across the landscape.” In this chaotic atmosphere, the Review-Journal argues that Trump offers the chance for a more stable and prosperous future.

The newspaper describes the litany of criminal charges Trump is facing as “prosecutorial overreach” aimed at derailing his campaign. It highlights his strong record as president, noting that “the Earth didn’t stop spinning.”

“Instead, his presidency was marked by relative global stability and a strong American economy. Inflation was an afterthought,” the newspaper observes.

KAMALA.

The Review-Journal contrasts this with life under the Biden-Harris government:

“Two major wars rage. The debt has ballooned to $35 trillion. Inflation hit 9 percent, the highest rate in four decades, in large part because Democrats can’t temper their insatiable desire to spend other people’s money. Prices for staples remain stubbornly elevated. Housing costs have soared, including in Las Vegas. High interest rates make it more difficult for new homebuyers and burden families carrying credit card and other debt. If this weren’t destructive enough, Ms. Harris and Mr. Biden turned a blind eye to the border for three years, releasing millions of illegal crossers into the country and causing mayors in blue cities to cry uncle.” […]

Kari Lake Handily Defeated Ruben Gallego in Arizona’s Senate TV Debate https://redwave.press/kari-lake-handily-defeated-ruben-gallego-in-arizonas-senate-tv-debate/ https://redwave.press/kari-lake-handily-defeated-ruben-gallego-in-arizonas-senate-tv-debate/#respond Fri, 11 Oct 2024 11:17:24 +0000 https://redwave.press/kari-lake-handily-defeated-ruben-gallego-in-arizonas-senate-tv-debate/ ‘Border Kari Lake,’ as Donald Trump recently labeled her, handily defeated her Democratic opponent, Ruben Gallego, in the Arizona Senate TV debate last night. Lake, currently running seven points behind Gallego in the Real Clear Politics polling average, painted a picture of Gallego as an aloof, Biden-Harris loyalist more concerned with open borders ideology than security – physical or economic.

Fox 10 Phoenix’s stream began with horrendous feedback noise, something Gallego managed to emulate throughout the debate. Over the course of an hour, he reverted to his monotonous hum of pro-abortion and anti-federalism talking points while failing to land any successful blows on Lake.

Naturally, Gallego resorted to cheap shots about Lake’s attendance at Mar a Lago events, as well as attempting to needle Lake on her dismissal of the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial election results. But in refusing to take his bait and pivoting, Lake proved herself a far handier candidate on stage, with the debate moderators even doing remarkably well at staying out of the flashpoints.

The discussion predominantly revolved around immigration and the economy, with Lake pointing out Gallego’s record as an open-borders extremist, and Gallego only furthering the evidence of that by repeatedly trying to shift the conversation to DACA recipients (aka ‘Dreamers’) and their “rights.” […]
