(DCNF)—Vice President Kamala Harris released an 82-page document explaining her vision for the economy on Wednesday, but the plan shares much in common with President Joe Biden’s economic agenda.
The plan, titled “A New Way Forward For The Middle Class,” proposes to build upon Biden initiatives like student loan debt cancellation, industrial policy, huge subsidies for green energy and going after corporations for alleged price gouging. Prior to quitting the presidential race under immense political pressure, voters were largely dissatisfied with Biden’s economy, which had come to be defined by 40-year high inflation.
“Harris isn’t going to stray very far from current Biden policies,” Ryan Young, a senior economist for the Competitive Enterprise Institute, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “She is trying to steer a middle course between carving out her own identity, but without implying that Biden has pushed bad policies, which she has been promoting for the last four years.”

Harris aims to “[make] corporations and the wealthiest Americans pay their fair share in taxes,” something she plans to do by essentially replicating the $5 trillion tax hike that Biden’s fiscal year 2024 budget request called for. Some of Harris’ “common sense” reforms that would fuel this tax hike include a 25% unrealized capital gains tax for high-earning Americans and a top capital gains tax rate of 33%, an aggressive-but-less-ambitious alternative to the 44.6% rate that Biden has proposed.
“Americans should be deeply concerned about any political program attempting to brand a massive increase in taxes – in this case, including a tax on unrealized capital gains – as ‘new,’” Peter Earle, a senior economist at the American Institute for Economic Research, told the DCNF. “Increasing the reach of the confiscatory claws of the government while simultaneously amping up spending is how the US has accumulated $35 trillion in debt, over $100 trillion in unfunded liabilities, and debased the dollar by 90 or more percent in fifty years … And to the extent that few specifics are given, there’s no reason not to assume that Harris’ policy goals are not simply a continuation of Bidenomics.”
Those tax increases may be necessary to pay for the litany of entitlements Harris is proposing.
“Vice President Harris and Governor Walz are fighting for a future with affordable, high-quality child care and pre-K, long-term care, and paid leave, while supporting care workers and family caregivers,” the economic plan reads, without attaching any price tag to the proposals. Biden either endorsed or pursued each of these policies during his term as president.
Harris’ plan also calls for a $25,000 subsidy for qualifying first-time homebuyers. This would actually end up raising home prices, in large part because “the best way to reduce housing prices is to build more housing, not to subsidize existing housing,” according to Young.
Biden has previously proposed a similar $10,000 tax credit for first-time homebuyers and those selling their first homes.
A Harris-Walz administration “will invest in building the energy industries of the future here in the United States, keeping the well-paid union jobs of the future here at home” while building on the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), Biden’s massive climate law. Beyond hundreds of billions of dollars to subsidize the green energy industry, the IRA also features tax credits that Americans can claim to install things like heat pumps and rooftop solar in their homes.

Harris touts these credits in her new plan, stating that they allowed “more than 3.4 million American families [to save] $8.4 billion in 2023.” Missing from the economic plan is the fact that more than half of those savings were claimed by people making more than $100,000, and that six-figure-plus earners were over three times more likely to claim the credits, according to Internal Revenue Service data.
Like Biden, Harris is also promising to be a strong ally of organized labor if elected.
“She will also prevent misclassification of employees, and override so-called ‘right-to-work’ laws that prevent workers from freely organizing,” Harris’ economic plan states. “She will also continue to fight for manufacturing and infrastructure projects that benefit from significant public support to be subject to strong prevailing wage requirements, as well as Project Labor Agreements for construction projects above appropriate minimal thresholds.”
Notably, “right-to-work” laws do not prevent workers from organizing; such laws simply give workers the choice as to whether or not they would like to join a union or pay union dues, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. Many of the subsidies Biden unleashed on the American economy include labor requirements that advantage labor unions.
Throughout his first term, Biden repeatedly alleged that corporate greed and price gouging has led to price spikes for goods like gasoline and groceries, for example, while many economists and observers have actually blamed his tax-and-spend agenda for driving inflation. Nevertheless, Harris seems keen to continue blaming companies for higher prices, at least rhetorically.
A prospective Harris-Walz administration “will go after nefarious price gouging on essential goods during emergencies or times of crisis,” the plan states. Harris had previously trotted out a broader version of this policy in August, but she and her team subsequently specified that de facto price controls would only take effect in the wake of emergencies, like natural disasters or a pandemic.
“If one were to undertake an exhaustive research program to determine an economic policy which, throughout history, has not only failed repeatedly but caused tremendous damage on the way to inevitable failure, it would be price controls,” Earle told the DCNF. “For 4,000 years political authorities have been trying to freeze prices without causing shortages and extensive economic ruination and [have] been unsuccessful.”
The Harris campaign did not respond to a request for comment.

In New York City, police sources told the NYPost that Tren de Aragua gangsters are recruiting their members and victims straight out of city-run migrant shelters.
In the Big Apple, Tren de Aragua is trying to recruit foot soldiers to force women into sex trafficking — in the hopes that it will become a main source of income for the gang, according to the leaked memo. -NYPost
The memo was circulated to federal and local law enforcement agencies nationwide. It said, “For some women, the debt is almost impossible to pay off due to penalty fees added by TdA members as punishment.”
A separate leaked memo from the US Army, first reported by investigative reporter James O’Keefe, shows there are an estimated 5,000 Tren de Aragua gangsters, many of them armed, running amok nationwide.
Since January 2021, the Biden-Harris-Mayorkas trio destroyed whatever border security the Trump administration built and facilitated the greatest migrant invasion this nation has ever seen, flooding cities and counties with millions of unvetted migrants, some of which have been confirmed as criminals and terrorists.
Also on Friday, a damning revelation from Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX); US Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE) revealed that over 650,000 migrants with criminal histories were let loose in the United States between ‘mid-May 2023 through the end of July 2024.’

Liburdi said in his ruling that Arizona’s Democrat Secretary of State Adrian Fontes risked disenfranchising voters by certifying election even if some votes weren’t certified by counties. This will allow challenges and even investigations to proceed if credible reports of voter fraud are made.

A federal judge in Arizona just ruled that the Democrat Secretary of State can NOT certify the results of the 2024 election if any counties withhold certification due to fraud.
“Plaintiffs allege that the plain terms of the Canvass Provision require the Secretary to nullify a county’s votes if the county board of supervisors fails to timely canvass… Considering the above, the Court finds that Plaintiffs have plausibly alleged a severe burden on their right to vote. The right to vote is fundamental.” – Judge Michael T. Liburdi
In 2022, the Cochise County Board of Supervisors voted to stall certification so they could investigate the fraud that took place. Democrats threatened them with lawsuits, forcing them to certify under duress. Wanting to stop that from happening again in 2024, Corrupt Secretary of State Adrian Fontes added a new provision to the Election Procedure Manual, mandating the certification of statewide results by tossing out the votes from counties that withheld certification.
The Rule: If the official canvass of any county has not been received by this deadline, the Secretary of State must proceed with the state canvass without including the votes of the missing county.
This ruling is a GAME CHANGER because it empowers counties to halt the certification process if fraud occurs in November. Bravo to Judge Liburdi.
Democrats have been employing a strategy of “running out the clock” on anything they believe can harm their chances of victory. This methodology has been employed in Arizona multiple times in recent elections, including 2020 and 2022.
By rightly declaring the new rule unconstitutional, Judge Liburdi takes the strategy off the table. If there are credible reports of election fraud that prevent any counties from being certified, then canvassing cannot begin until it’s resolved.

The plaintiffs contended that the manual’s “Speech Provision” and “Canvass Provision” violated the First Amendment and Fourteenth Amendment rights of Arizona voters, specifically claiming it disenfranchised voters by allowing election officials to suppress speech and exclude votes from counties that fail to timely certify their results.
The Speech Provision in the manual explicitly prohibits actions like “raising one’s voice” or using “offensive language” at polling places, which plaintiffs argue could easily be weaponized to silence free speech under the guise of preventing voter intimidation.
Judge Liburdi acknowledged these concerns but noted the state’s intent to ensure orderly polling places. Plaintiffs contended that this rule was overly broad and amounted to unconstitutional censorship, which could have chilling effects on free speech not only near polling places but across the state.
On the Canvass Provision, the plaintiffs claimed that giving the Secretary of State the authority to proceed with the state canvass without counting votes from any county that failed to certify results in time was unprecedented and posed a significant risk of disenfranchising voters.
The plaintiffs cited the 2022 election in Cochise County, where election officials delayed certifying results, as an example of how this rule could be misused to throw out legally cast votes.
This is a small but important shift in the upcoming election. It allows for better scrutiny of election practices and prevents voters from being disenfranchised by the Secretary of State.

(DCNF)—Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign bragged on Monday that a “leading” law enforcement group had endorsed Harris, however, the organization is only a few months old and is run by a veteran Democratic political operative.
Police Leaders for Community Safety, which endorsed Harris on Sept. 23, only launched publicly on June 11, according to a press release from the group. A registration document filed with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) indicates that the organization is led by Gail Hoffman, a long-time Democratic staffer who worked on John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign as director of surrogates and in the Clinton administration in various high-level roles, according to a biography on her website.
Hoffman has never worked for a police agency, per her biography.
Despite the organization’s recent founding and ties to the Democratic Party, Fox News Digital, which was given an advance copy of the endorsement, initially described the organization as a “leading law enforcement group,” language that the Harris campaign later used to tout the group’s backing. Days after publication, Fox changed its headline and removed the word “leading,” noting that “Police Leaders for Community Safety is comprised of former law enforcement leaders and not a leading group.”
The Fraternal Order of Police, the nation’s largest law enforcement interest group, took issue with framing Police Leaders for Community Safety as a “leading” organization in a statement to the Daily Caller News Foundation.
“Prior to Police Leaders for Community Safety announcing their endorsement earlier this week, we were totally unfamiliar with the group,” a Fraternal Order of Police spokesperson told the DCNF. “We are very active, and aggressive in fact, in our interactions here in Washington [D.C.] and we’re present at basically every law enforcement-oriented meeting that happens here and we have never crossed paths with this organization nor are we familiar with its goals and objectives.”
The Fraternal Order of Police endorsed former President Donald Trump on Sept. 6, according to a press release. Police Leaders for Community Safety claimed to be “the only national police leadership organization that endorses candidates for political office” when announcing its support of Harris.
Police Leaders for Community Safety defended its status as a leading law enforcement organization, with a spokesperson telling the DCNF that it had been informally organizing since 2022 and filed registration paperwork with the IRS in 2023, with June 2024 representing the group’s public launch. The organization lists a few dozen law enforcement members, virtually all of whom are retired, on its “national advisory board.”
The Fraternal Order of Police, by contrast, had approximately 377,000 members as of this month, per a press release.
A spokesperson for the Harris campaign would not say whether or not it was accurate to call the Police Leaders for Community Safety a “leading” organization, instead pointing out that they had used the same language as Fox. The campaign did not respond to a follow-up inquiry after Fox changed its headline.

Police Leaders for Community Safety justified its nonpartisan bona fides in its statement to the DCNF, claiming that it is “comprised of Democrats, Republicans and independents” and that its endorsements are “based on issues of concern to law enforcement leaders, not on parties.”
All five of the people sitting on the organization’s board of directors, which includes Hoffman, are either Democrats or have a history of making liberal statements. Despite this, Police Leaders for Community Safety describes itself as a “nonpartisan national advocacy organization.”
David Mahoney, the organization’s treasurer, ran as a Democrat to serve as sheriff of Dane County, Wisconsin in 2018, ultimately winning the office. Susan Riseling, the chair of the organization’s board, meanwhile, uses social media almost exclusively to support Democrats and oppose Republicans, sharing posts from left-wing fake news operations like the Palmer Report as well as other large Democratic-aligned accounts like Occupy Democrats and MeidasTouch.
“Now I am a Democrat [because] the Republicans have no ideas beyond hate,” Riseling wrote on Twitter in 2021. “I can not understand any veterans voting Republican,” she said a year later.
Police Leaders for Community Safety vice chair Rick Myers, meanwhile, has used his LinkedIn account to advocate for expanded gun control, calling AR-15s “weapons of mass destruction,” and describing the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot as an “insurrection.”
“Despite the fact that our Founding Fathers had black powder muskets that could only shoot one round without reloading, and fashioned our unique Constitution and its Amendments to ensure our freedoms such that freedom to bear arms was designed for ‘a well regulated militia,’ we continue to allow unfettered weapons of mass destruction among our own citizens,” Myers wrote in 2021, reacting to a mass shooting in his area. “AR-15[s] are killing machines.”
Cynthia Herriott, the organization’s fifth board member, was a registered Democrat as of at least 2021, according to public records.
Herriott, Riseling and Myers are all retired police chiefs.
“Police Leaders for Community Safety is the only national police leadership organization that endorses candidates for political office, and this is the group’s first endorsement,” the group’s endorsement of Harris reads. “This and future endorsements will be based on candidates’ alignment on issues vital to law enforcement.”
Harris praised the defund the police movement multiple times in 2020.

]]>(DCNF)—Hoover Institute senior fellow Victor Davis Hanson said Friday on his podcast that Vice President Kamala Harris’ interviews are “cementing” a negative image of her with just under 50 days till voters hit the polls.
Harris has been criticized for her word salad responses during interviews. Hanson stated on “The Victor Davis Hanson Show” that despite Harris taking a limited amount of interviews in comparison to former President Donald Trump, the exposure she is getting from them has “not been good.”
“When I watch that today, and then you compare and contrast with the Oprah interview, with the Association of Black journalists interview, with the local Philadelphia anchorman interview — now we’re up to four,” Hanson said. “And with the — I guess that was an interview — Dana Bash, with the multiple choice answers provided for Waltz and her, she’s only done five, and I think Trump’s done 74.”
“But all of them have been not good — not good. They’re cementing a picture that she doesn’t know what she’s saying, that she can’t articulate ideas, that she’s sappy, which brings her into this 43 day doom loop,” Hanson said.
The senior fellow suggested Harris’ “handlers” may be questioning her next campaign steps, linking it to her push for a second debate with Trump.
“So that’s what’s going on, and I don’t know what she’s supposed to be doing, because she doesn’t do these four answers. She does not tell us what she’s going to do. She does not explain why she doesn’t do it now as the vice president. She does not tell us why she’s flipped and rejected her whole ideological career, and she doesn’t tell us the relationship, if there is any anymore, with Joe Biden,” Hanson said.
In a recent interview with MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle, Harris failed to provide a detailed answer on her economic policy. Harris also dodged a direct answer during a Sept. 13 interview with 6ABC Philadelphia’s Action News, speaking about her middle-class upbringing and lawns when asked how she plans to make life more affordable.

But all the handshakes, back pats, and tough talk from Harris Friday on border security are likely to be overshadowed by new numbers released by ICE after a Republican Congressman’s request that detail how many non-detained convicted illegal immigrants are still roaming the United States despite having final orders for removal:
Tens of thousands of illegal immigrants with sex offenses and homicide convictions are loose on the streets, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) data provided to lawmakers this week.
The agency provided data to Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Texas, about national data for illegal immigrants with criminal charges or convictions. The data, as of July 2024, is broken down by those in detention, and those who are not in detention — known as the non-detained docket. The non-detained docket includes illegal immigrants who have final orders of removal or are going through removal proceedings but are not detained in ICE custody. There are currently more than 7 million people on that docket.
The data says that, among those not in detention, there are 425,431 convicted criminals and 222,141 with pending criminal charges.
Gutfeld noted during Fox News’ “The Five” that this story was “so unbelievable” that he “wanted to see if it was reported elsewhere.” Unsurprisingly, he could find nary a word about what he calls “probably the biggest crime story I’ve ever seen” on the likes of CNN, ABC, and Drudge. And he had a special message for the Democrat “hate watchers” of Fox News: “The media doesn’t want you to know this information. They don’t want it to reach you. They’re rather you die or be raped than Trump be right or find out the truth.” […]

]]>(DCNF)—Fox News host Sandra Smith and pollster Daron Shaw broke down Friday how Vice President Kamala Harris was losing support from Hispanic voters in the crucial swing state of Arizona.
Harris trails former President Donald Trump 48% to his 51% in a Fox News poll of likely voters in Arizona released Thursday. Smith and Shaw noted that a major factor in the vice president falling behind in the polls was due to lower margins of support among women and Hispanic voters.
“I want to take you to look at some of what is happening in Arizona, and the preference right there is for Donald Trump by three points in the latest Fox News polling. But there are some warning signs for Harris and questions of whether or not she can close this gap,” Smith said.

“Some of the warning signs are coming from the Hispanic voters. She had an 18-point lead with them in August in that state. That has now shrunk to 11,” Smith continued. “When it comes to voters under 30, not only has that margin shrank, but it’s gone to the deficit. She had a 13-point lead there, and it’s now gone to a 12-point deficit.”
Trump picked up substantial support among Hispanic voters in polling due to issues like immigration and the economy before President Joe Biden announced he would not seek reelection on July 21. Harris has regained some support from Hispanic voters since replacing Biden at the top of the Democratic ticket in some polls.
“The Democratic coalition relies heavily on African American voters, on Hispanic voters, on younger voters, as you just pointed out. In 2020, Biden’s margin — you know, Trump barely got double digits with African American voters. He was in the 30s with Hispanics. He was in the 30s with voters under 30 years of age,” Shaw noted. “Now you’re talking about numbers amongst Hispanics in the 40s, numbers close to W. Bush’s numbers. Amongst younger voters, these are smaller sample sizes so we have to be a little cautious here, but the fact that he is competitive, let alone leading amongst younger voters, is devastating news for her campaign.”
“She desperately needs those voters to swing back to their traditional patterns she’s going to win a state like Arizona,” Shaw continued. “This is a state decided by 12,500 votes last time. You can’t hemorrhage voters from your key coalitions and expect to carry a state like Arizona.”

The Biden administration is working on a new diplomatic initiative for a “pause” in the fighting in Lebanon and a resumption of negotiations on a Gaza hostage and ceasefire deal, according to two U.S. officials, one Israeli official and two sources with direct knowledge.

- Over the last two days, the U.S. has been discussing the idea with France, Israel, Lebanon and several other Arab countries, a U.S. official and a European diplomat said.
- “We are working with several countries on a proposal for a diplomatic solution for the north,” a U.S. official confirmed.
- “Netanyahu gave a green light to discuss this initiative,” an Israeli official said.
If Hezbollah can be persuaded to withdraw north of the Litani River peacefully, Israeli forces would not need to enter southern Lebanon, and the Israeli government would be quite thrilled about that.
I am entirely convinced that this is not going to happen, but I think that all of this diplomatic posturing will delay an Israeli ground operation for a little while.

Egyptair, Emirates, Etihad, flydubai and Qatar Airways are among the airlines this week that have now suspended flights to and from Beirut due to the unstable security situation, according to Reuters and Al Arabiya.
Reuters also reports that Britain has advised U.K.-based airlines not to fly into Lebanese airspace until Nov. 4, citing a “potential risk to aviation from military activity”.

On Wednesday, Vladimir Putin discussed very alarming changes to Russia’s official nuclear doctrine…
“The updated version of the document proposes that aggression against Russia by any non-nuclear-weapon state, but with the participation or support of a nuclear-weapon state, should be considered as a joint attack on the Russian Federation,” Putin told the council.
He said the conditions for the launch of Russia’s nuclear weapons would be “reliable information about a massive launch of aerospace attack means and their crossing of our state border.”
He added, “We reserve the right to use nuclear weapons in the event of aggression against Russia and Belarus.”
So if Ukraine starts firing long-range missiles that were provided by us at Russian cities, the Russians would consider that to be a joint attack and would reserve the right to use nuclear weapons in such a scenario.
Please let the implications of that sink in.

]]>(DCNF)—CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten said on Wednesday that young voters who are largely backing Vice President Kamala Harris may not actually turn up to the polls.
Harris is leading Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump by 17 points among likely voters ranging from 18 to 29 years of age and holds a 12-point lead among voters ages 18 to 34, according to a CNN/SSRS poll released Wednesday. Enten warned that slightly less than half of the young demographic is “extremely motivated” to vote, indicating a significant percentage may not turn up to the polls on Election Day.
“We’ve got Kamala Harris up by 12 points, now if we thin ourselves down a little bit, let’s go under the age of 30, what do we have? We have an even larger lead for Kamala Harris, she’s up by 17 points … But, of course, are these voters actually going to turn out and vote? Extremely motivated to vote in the 2024 election, look at this, overall voters [is at] 64%. For voters under the age of 40, it’s just 49%. I think the key question isn’t just who they’re going to vote for, it’s whether they’ll turn out and vote. Oftentimes, younger voters are less likely to turn out and vote, and I think this year is going to be quite similar to that,” Enten said.
Enten further pointed out that Harris leads the former president among young voters by an average of 18 points in national polls, a 10-point decrease from Biden’s 28-point lead among this demographic in September 2020.
Enten pointed to results from a New York Times/Siena College poll that found a massive gender divide among young voters in the race between Harris and Trump in six key battleground states, with the former president holding a 10-point lead among male voters and Harris leading by 38 points with women voters.
Trump is currently leading Harris in the battleground Sunbelt states of Arizona, North Carolina and Georgia, according to a New York Times/Siena College poll from Monday. Harris holds a 2-point lead in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
Trump underperformed in swing state polling in the 2016 and 2020 elections, indicating he will possibly perform better in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan than the polls suggest.

]]>(DCNF)—CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten said Tuesday that Vice President Kamala Harris’ support among black and Hispanic voters is “significantly” weaker than President Joe Biden’s was at this point in the 2020 race.
Former President Donald Trump is currently leading Harris in the racially diverse sun belt states of Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina, according to a Monday New York Times/Siena College Poll. Enten, on “CNN News Central,” noted that Harris is performing much worse with black and Hispanic voters compared to Biden’s September 2020 lead over Trump, though she is cutting into the former president’s lead among white voters, based on data from the Cook Political Report and his own aggregate of polling.

“Look, Kamala Harris is up by 66 points among black voters. That is up from where Joe Biden was earlier this year, right, when he got out of the race he was up by 51 points over Donald Trump. But this 66-point-lead is way lower than that 80-point-lead that Joe Biden had over Donald Trump at this point in the 2020 cycle. It’s 14 points lower,” Enten said. “So the bottom line is, yes, Joe Biden was really struggling with black voters. Harris has climbed up a little bit, but she’s not anywhere near the level that Joe Biden was at this point, just four years ago.”
Enten said Harris’ lead among Hispanic voters is the “same trend idea” compared to Biden in 2020.
“Kamala Harris is ahead by 15 points. That’s certainly significantly better than Joe Biden was doing just a few months ago when it was a seven point advantage. But again, look at this, this 15 point advantage that Harris has is significantly less than Joe Biden was doing at this point years ago,” he said. “It’s only about half that number, my goodness, gracious, right? So we’re again, we’re seeing that double-digit shift from where we were four years ago at this point, not just among black voters, but Hispanic voters as well. Kamala Harris doing better than Joe Biden was doing earlier on this year, but not anywhere near as well as he was doing four years ago at this point.”
Enten noted Harris’ current support with black and Hispanic voters is “really not very good” in comparison to Biden.
“You’re wondering to yourself, how the heck is Kamala Harris so competitive in this race? And this is where it gets really interesting. This really racial dynamic, racial polarization decreasing because look among white voters … Look at this, Trump is ahead, but by eight points,” he said. “That is significantly lower than Trump’s lead was at the end of the 2020 campaign when it was a 14 point advantage and it’s even lower than it was at this point back in 2020 when it was a nine point advantage for Donald Trump.”
“So what’s essentially going on here is that Kamala Harris is able to make up the sort of lower standing that she has among black and Hispanic voters by doing significantly better than Joe Biden did four years ago in the final tally, among white voters,” Enten asserted.
Harris is currently leading Trump slightly in the whiter rust belt swing-states of Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, according to the RealClearPolling averages.
