Maybe I’m smoking the hopium pipe on this one but the idea that Russia, after nearly three years of war with Ukraine, is ready to tangle with NATO seems absurd. But here’s the thing. If there’s a one percent chance that we’re on the verge of World War III, then we have to address it. Moreover, I would not put it past the UniParty Swamp and their puppet masters in the Globalist Elite Cabal to try to start a war before Donald Trump is inaugurated. (The Economic Collapse Blog)—Now Joe Biden has really done it.  By giving the green light to long-range missile strikes deep inside of Russian territory, he has brought us closer to nuclear conflict than ever before.  As you will see below, Russian officials have become convinced that “NATO has gone to war with Russia”.  I feel like I am watching a slow-motion train wreck that I am powerless to stop.  I have been warning about this for so many years, and now it is here.  Steve Quayle, Henry Gruver, Dumitru Duduman, Marty Breeden and so many others have also warned America about what is coming.  If we stay on the path that we are on, nuclear weapons will be used.  Do we really want to go down that road?

The corporate media here in the United States is trying really hard to convince us that Joe Biden’s decision wasn’t really a big deal.

But the Russians sure do think that it was a big deal…

In Moscow, meanwhile, senior lawmaker Leonid Slutsky slammed Mr. Biden, accusing him of deciding “to end his presidential term and go down in history as ‘Bloody Joe’.”

Senator Vladimir Dzhabarov, meanwhile, told Russia’s state-run Tass news agency that Biden’s decision represented “a very big step toward the beginning of the third world war.”

The official newspaper of the Russian state, Rossiyskaya Gazeta, warned “the madmen who are drawing NATO into a direct conflict with our country may soon be in great pain.”

And according to the Washington Post, one former Kremlin official is warning that “Moscow now believes NATO has gone to war with Russia”…

That is rather chilling. Of course that language echoes something that Vladimir Putin said himself back in September…

Putin had personally warned against the eventuality previously, issuing a warning in September that U.S. permission for Ukraine to fire American-supplied long-range missiles at his country, “would mean that NATO countries, the United States, and European countries, are parties to the war in Ukraine.”

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov referenced that previous statement by Putin when he was specifically asked how the Russian government is viewing the latest developments…

“And here the position of our President, the position of the Russian side, was very clearly and unambiguously formulated by our Head of State in his statement that he made in St Petersburg.

“It says everything very clearly. I simply recommend that you read these words of the President once again.”

Sergey Markov was asked if Vladimir Putin would actually use nuclear weapons once long-range missiles start falling deep inside Russian territory, and he warned that in a worst case scenario “nuclear war happens before Christmas of this year”…

Asked if Putin would use nuclear missiles in response, Mr Markov said ‘not now’ and said it was more likely that bases in eastern Europe could be hit by smaller, tactical nuclear missiles.

But he added: “I think Biden, Macron and Starmer want escalation which could lead to, from my understanding, in the worst scenario, the nuclear war happens before Christmas of this year.

“Probably you will not be able to say ‘Merry Christmas’ because you will stay in the hole trying to hide away [your] family from the nuclear catastrophe. It can develop very, very quickly.”

Personally, I don’t think that it will happen quite so fast. But we are definitely on a road that leads to nuclear war.

After Biden’s announcement, U.S. Representative Thomas Massie stated that Biden had just committed an impeachable offense…

By authorizing long range missiles to strike inside Russia, Biden is committing an unconstitutional Act of War that endangers the lives of all U.S. citizens. This is an impeachable offense, but the reality is he’s an emasculated puppet of a deep state.

I agree with Massie 100 percent.

But there won’t be a move to impeach Biden now.

Most Republicans in Congress are way too lily-livered to do anything like that.

Donald Trump Jr. was also horrified by Biden’s decision…

Trump Jr., 46, tweeted that the “military-industrial complex” is trying to undermine his dad before he takes office by pushing the war further into chaos.

“The Military Industrial Complex seems to want to make sure they get World War 3 going before my father has a chance to create peace and save lives,” he tweeted.

Yes, Joe Biden is still in the White House, but this was a decision that Donald Trump should have been allowed to make.

Trump needs to come out and immediately denounce what Biden has done, but if he does that he will be accused of “colluding with Putin” and that is something that Trump very much wants to avoid. But Trump can’t be concerned about what others will think at this point.

We are literally on the brink of nuclear war, and we are running out of time to reverse course. In fact, Sweden is so concerned about the possibility of nuclear war that it has “issued five million pamphlets warning its citizens to stockpile food and water”…

A communications cable between Lithuania and Sweden was cut on Sunday morning around 10:00 a.m. local time, a spokesperson from telecommunications company Telia Lithuania confirmed to CNN.

Did the Russians do that? Were they trying to send us a message?

I just wrote about how vulnerable our undersea Internet cables are last week.

Cutting two cables is not going to disrupt much, but what if the Russians started cutting dozens of cables?

We really are in uncharted territory. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail, because right now the road that we are on only leads to pain.

President Biden has given the OK to lift restrictions that will allow Ukraine to use U.S.-provided long-range weapons to strike deep into Russian territory, a U.S. official confirmed to CBS News on Sunday. The move is a significant change to U.S. policy in the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict.

The easing of restrictions would allow Kyiv to use the Army Tactical Missile System, or ATACMS, to hit targets inside Russia. The move also comes as some 10,000 North Korean troops were sent to Kursk near Ukraine’s northern border to help Russian forces retake territory.

One of the reasons why I am so upset is because this wasn’t his decision to make.

We just had an election and his side lost.

The American people elected a leader that wants to bring the war in Ukraine to an end, but now Joe Biden is trying to make sure that nobody is going to be able to end this war.

According to CBS News, one of the reasons why this decision was made was to “put Kyiv in a better negotiating position when and if peace talks happen”…

The U.S. decision could help Ukraine at a moment when Russian forces appear to be making gains and could put Kyiv in a better negotiating position when and if peace talks happen.

It also comes as Mr. Biden is about to leave office and President-elect Trump has pledged to limit American support for Ukraine and ending the war as soon as possible.

Are you kidding me?

That is nonsense.

Donald Trump needs to come forward immediately and denounce this move, because we could be facing a scenario where events spiral out of control before he even has the opportunity to take office.

When Vladimir Putin was asked about the possibility that long-range missiles provided by the U.S. could soon be used to hit targets deep inside Russia, he responded by warning that such a move would mean that “U.S. and European countries are at war with Russia”…

“We are not talking about allowing or not allowing the Ukrainian regime to strike Russia with these weapons,” Putin said Thursday in comments to propagandist Pavel Zarubin. “We are talking about deciding whether NATO countries are directly involved in the military conflict or not.”

“This will mean that NATO countries, the U.S. and European countries are at war with Russia,” Putin said. “And if this is so, then, bearing in mind the change in the very essence of this conflict, we will make appropriate decisions based on the threats that will be created for us.”

Joe Biden just called Putin’s bluff.

We just crossed that red line, and there is no going back.

Now we will see if Putin was bluffing or not.

Later in September, Vladimir Putin explained that a “joint attack on the Russian Federation” could trigger the use of nuclear weapons…

A new nuclear doctrine would “clearly set the conditions for Russia to transition to using nuclear weapons,” he warned – and said such scenarios included conventional missile strikes against Moscow.

He said that Russia would consider such a “possibility” of using nuclear weapons if it detected the start of a massive launch of missiles, aircraft and drones into its territory, which presented a “critical threat” to the country’s sovereignty.

He added: “It is proposed that aggression against Russia by any non-nuclear state, but with the participation or support of a nuclear state, be considered as their joint attack on the Russian Federation.”

The Russians have told us that allowing Ukraine to fire long-range missiles deep into their territory could cause a nuclear war.

But Joe Biden did it anyway.

Just imagine how we would feel if some foreign power was firing long-range missiles into Washington D.C. and New York City.

If someone did that to us, we would nuke them. I want everyone out there to understand the gravity of the scenario that we are facing. Of course the Russians have been escalating matters as well.

In fact, they just hit targets all over Ukraine using “120 missiles and almost 100 drones”…

Ukraine said it would introduce nationwide emergency power restrictions Monday after a “massive” Russian attack further damaged its already fragile energy grid ahead of a much-feared winter, with nine civilians also killed across the country on Sunday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Moscow launched 120 missiles and almost 100 drones, targeting Kyiv as well as southern, central and far-western corners of the country.

Civilians were killed in the Mykolaiv, Lviv, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions in what officials in the capital called one of the biggest barrages in the almost three-year Russian invasion.

Meanwhile, the war in the Middle East threatens to spiral completely out of control.

On Sunday, Zero Hedge was reporting that Israeli troops were seen fighting at a location that is 3 miles north of the Lebanese border…

The Israeli military has reached the deepest point in Lebanon since the ground offensive began about six weeks ago. This has been reported by both Lebanese and Israeli media, amid raging battles with Hezbollah on Saturday.

“The state-run National News Agency reported that Israeli troops temporarily captured a strategic hill in the southern Lebanese village of Shamaa, about five kilometers (3 miles) from the border early Saturday, before later being pushed back,” Israeli media reports. “The outlet claimed soldiers detonated several buildings including a shrine before they withdrew.”

The IDF has also been bombing Syria on an almost daily basis, and we are waiting for the next Iranian attack on Israel which could literally occur at any moment.

Even though we could see these wars coming way in advance, nobody has been able to stop them.

Now Joe Biden has brought us to the brink of nuclear war with Russia even though he has very little time remaining in the White House.

It was not his decision to make, but he made it anyway, and it could end up having very serious implications for every man, woman and child on the entire planet.

Some Democrats have asked Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor to step down before Trump enters office so that she can be replaced by the Biden-Harris administration, citing her age (70) and her diabetes, Politico reported. Sellars said that Democrats fear a repeat of when Ruth Bader Ginsburg died in office during the Trump administration and was replaced by Amy Coney Barrett.

“Justice Sotomayor has been more than able justice. I know she may be having some personal issues that she contends with while serving on the bench. But, you know, I don’t want Justice Sotomayor to be another Ruth Bader Ginsburg in terms of staying too long,” Sellars told “CNN News Central” co-host John Berman.

“What does this mean for the dynamic of the court? The court is 6-3 now. If we are able to replace it with a Biden justice, it will still be 6-3,” Sellars continued. “The possibility of Justice Sotomayor having to resign or retire in the next four years is extremely high. You couple that with Alito and Clarence Thomas, then that means you go from a 6-3 court to 7-2 court in terms of conservative versus liberal.”

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley cited the possibility of Associate Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas retiring to allow Trump to nominate justices with similar views Wednesday.

“I hope Joe Biden makes the next 10 weeks as consequential as he can,” Sellars said. “I don’t care about drawing outside the lines of what Republicans may think about it, this is within your purview you can do it, and you should do it. One more thing, John, you have a hell of a vice president who has a legal pedigree to sit on the Supreme Court and let Republicans go crazy.”

Cruz appeared on “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo on the Fox Business Network, as Bartiromo noted that “Kamala Harris has two completely different messages when it comes to the war on Israel.”

She explained that when Harris is in Pennsylvania talking to Jewish voters, the Democrat stresses she’s going to make sure Israel has the right to defend itself. But when in Michigan, Harris tells voters she’s going to ensure there’s a ceasefire and the hostages taken by Hamas terrorists are released.

When asked what Harris’ leadership would look like on Israel if she wins the White House, Cruz replied:

“Kamala Harris is lying to people in Pennsylvania. And we know that because she’s not just some random person off the street. She’s been the sitting vice president for four years. And Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have been the single most anti-Israel administration this country has ever seen.

“It’s interesting when she did a ’60 Minutes’ interview she was asked who’s the biggest enemy America has, and she came back with Iran, which is a very good answer. And bizarrely enough, ’60 Minutes’ didn’t follow with the obvious response of, ‘Well then why have you given them a $100 billion? Why do you allow them today to sell 2 million barrels a day of oil? Why are you funding Iran, and Iran provides 90% of the funding and 90% of the funding to Hezbollah?’ They didn’t follow up with that question.

“But her record has been clear that if, God forbid, Kamala Harris is president, I think it gets much, much worse for Israel. Joe Biden’s a puppet. He doesn’t know is going on. He’s barely aware of what’s surrounding him. Kamala Harris is a true believer. I have served with her since the day she was elected to the Senate. She is hard left. Her voting record is to the left of Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. That ain’t easy.

“I served with Bernie and Elizabeth, there’s not much room to their left. And Kamala Harris’ voting record is virtually identical to my opponent Colin Allred. Colin Allred is Kamala Harris. And they’re counting on millions and millions of dollars from George Soros to try to convince the American people their voting record is different than it was.

“By the way, Kamala’s message in Pennsylvania, she actually meant it. You out to ask yourself, ‘Why didn’t she pick Josh Shapiro appear as her VP? The answer is in today’s Democrat Party they could not stomach a candidate who was Jewish. Shapiro might well have won the state of Pennsylvania for her. But the pro-Hamas wing of the Democrat could not imagine, could not tolerate such a thing.”

In his own close Senate race against Allred, Cruz lamented how Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has not given “a penny” to help Cruz win reelection.

“We are on our own, and we are in the middle of the single most expensive Senate race in the entire country,” Cruz said. “Chuck Schumer has been explicit I’m his No. 1 target, and Chuck Schumer and George Soros, they are spending more than $100 million dollars trying to beat me. … The Washington swamp doesn’t support me.

He then urged viewers to help him out financially with just two days before Election Day.

“Please go to tedcruz.org right now so we can fight back. We’re going to win in Texas but we need your help to win. If you are in Texas on Election Day, please, please, please come out and vote. Bring your friends, bring your family, bring anyone you can. This is all about turnout at this stage.”

Biden made the comment during a Tuesday Zoom call with the organization Voto Latino after comedian Tony Hinchcliffe referred to Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage” at Trump’s Sunday Madison Square Garden rally. Luntz, on “CNN News Central,” argued Biden’s remark holds greater weight than Hinchcliffe’s because he is the president, adding that it was “inappropriate” even if people interpret it differently.

“It’s gonna be huge because this is not some comedian saying something stupid and offensive at a rally where he should have been just basically disinvited. This is the president of the United States endorsing his vice president saying something, and I know that there’s different interpretations about what he said,” Luntz said. “It’s still inappropriate. He still shouldn’t be doing it and I’ve watched Trump already seize this.”

“The basket of deplorables was significant, was meaningful in 2016. In 2024, I can promise you that this is gonna drive Trump turnout,” he added. “He’s doing it already … I’m sure there’s going to be ads on as soon as tonight about this. This may be a turning point for those final 3%, and that’s all it is, who still need to be persuaded.”

Trump currently leads Vice President Kamala Harris slightly in five of the top seven battleground states, with Harris only holding narrow advantages in Michigan and Wisconsin, according to RealClearPolling averages.

“And just the other day, a speaker at his rally called Puerto Rico a ‘floating island of garbage.’ Well, let me tell you something … I don’t know the Puerto Rican that I know — or a Puerto Rico, where I’m — in my home state of Delaware, they’re good, decent, honorable people,” Biden said Tuesday. “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters. His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it’s un-American. It’s totally contrary to everything we’ve done, everything we’ve been.”

Biden tried to clarify his comments in an X post Tuesday night following criticism, claiming he was referencing Hinchcliffe’s “hateful rhetoric” rather than all Trump supporters.

The White House first published a transcript that recorded Biden saying “supporters’,” with a plural possessive apostrophe. It subsequently changed the transcript to read “supporter’s,” suggesting that Biden was only referring to Hinchcliffe.

The Democrats’ propaganda machine in cable news has exactly one story about Biden’s remarks on their website a day after they dropped, and they didn’t even drop that story until after the Wednesday morning traffic rush. This is a far cry from their massive coverage of both Donald Trump saying America was becoming a “garbage can” last week and comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s joke about Puerto Rico at the Madison Square Garden event last weekend.

MSNBC has mentioned one, the other, or both in 43 articles over the last seven days.

(DCNF)—White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Wednesday that President Joe Biden believes Republican nominee Donald Trump is a “fascist.”

Trump’s longest-running chief of staff John Kelly told The New York Times Wednesday that the former president “met the definition of a fascist” and admired figures like former Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler. The press secretary confirmed to CNN senior White House correspondent MJ Lee that Biden agrees with Kelly’s assessment about Trump, claiming that the former president plans to be a “dictator on day one.”

“You have heard from this president over and over again about the threats to democracy,” Jean-Pierre said. “And the president has spoken about that. You have heard from the former president himself that he is going to be a dictator on day one. This is him, not us, this is him. And it’s not just us the White House saying this, you’ve heard it from officials, former officials who worked for the former president say this as well. So, you know, do we agree , I know that [Vice President Kamala Harris] just spoke about this, do we agree about that determination, yes, we do.”

The press secretary pointed to the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, in which she accused Trump of encouraging people to raid the Capitol and overturn the 2020 election results. She then accused Trump of “praising Adolf Hitler,” which she said is “dangerous” and “disgusting.”

“So just to be clear, when you said ‘we do agree,’ President Biden believes that Donald Trump is a fascist?” Lee said.

“I mean, yes,” Jean-Pierre replied. “We have said, he has said himself. The former president has said he is going to be a dictator on day one. We cannot ignore that. We cannot. And, we cannot ignore or forget what happened on January 6, 2021. That is real, real people were affected by this. Law enforcement who were trying to protect the Capitol, protect elected officials in the Capitol, congressional members, senators, House members. Their lives were ruined because of that day.”

The former president was threatened by two assassination attempts on his life in the span of two months, one in mid-July and the other in September. The second would-be assassin, Ryan Wesley Routh, wrote in an April 22 post on “X” that “democracy is on the ballot” and that President Joe Biden needed to protect Americans from Trump attempting to “make [them] slaves against master.”

The White House has repeatedly branded Trump and his supporters as “extremist threats to democracy” since early on in the administration. Jean-Pierre stated Trump is a “threat to our democracy” during a Sept. 17 press briefing, two days after the second assassination attempt.

Biden’s expulsion from the presidential race did not herald the arrival of truth. Most of the media still tolerates pervasive secrecy on prime issues of the 2024 campaign.

In bygone times, elections were about self-government.  Nowadays, voters merely have a cameo role to sanctify the nearly boundless power of officialdom. .  Every year, the federal government slaps a “secret” label on trillions of pages of information – enough to fill 20 million filing cabinets.  And since the government is automatically benevolent (if a Democrat is president), there is no need to trouble citizens with the grisly details of how they are being served.

At the same time Special Counsel Jack Smith is racing to fling all possible dirt at Trump before Election Day, each week we learn of new cover-ups designed to deceive Americans about how badly they have been misgoverned:

1. Biden administration has mostly succeeded in covering up the crime wave by illegal aliens ushered into the nation since 2021. Former Border Patrol Sector Chief Aaron Heitke testified to Congress last month that the Biden administration hid the adverse impact from deluging U.S. cities with illegal aliens, including those with terror ties.
2. The National Archives announced on Wednesday that it would delay until after the election the release of potentially damning records on Vice President Joe Biden’s dealings with his son and foreign wheelers-dealers – records that have been sought for more than a year by conservative lawyers and activists.
3. Biden’s Justice Department sought to bury all the tax charges against Hunter Biden but were thwarted thanks to courageous IRS whistleblowers.  Hunter’s guilty plea last month to the tax charges confirms that the Justice Department’s offer a wrist-slap plea bargain to Hunter last year was a shameless obstruction of justice.
4. Biden’s FBI last year created “a new category of extremists that it seeks to track and counter: Donald Trump’s army of MAGA followers,” Newsweek reported. FBI whistleblowers have exposed the politicization of an agency that even secretly targeted traditional Catholics who prefer to hear mass in Latin. But the vast majority of FBI surveillance and entrapment abuses remain shrouded.
5. Team Biden is covering up both Trump assassination attempts. Biden appointees have stonewalled bipartisan congressional investigations into the abysmal Secret Service failures at Butler, Pennsylvania.  The Justice Department has indefinitely delayed hearings for Ryan Routh, the 58-year-old guy caught waiting to shoot Trump on his Florida golf course.  Delaying proceedings against Routh assures that Americans will not learn before the election whether the would-be assassin had ties to the CIA, Pentagon, State Department or other agencies that assisted Routh with his massively-publicized campaign to recruit foreign soldiers to fight for Ukraine.

The Biden administration continues covering up almost everything regarding its support for Ukraine’s fight against Russia.  The best info Americans have received was thanks to a young military computer technician who leaked revelations that the Ukrainian military was in far worse shape than Team Biden claimed. Americans have been forced to pay hundreds of billions of dollars but are left in the dark regarding Biden administration machinations that risk pulling this nation into World War Three.
7. The House Oversight Committee this week subpoenaed DHS for its records on Tim Walz’s possible ties to the CCP after being contacted by a whistleblower.  There is zero chance that the Biden administration will release any of those records before Election Day.

Political convenience is practically the sole determinant of what Americans are permitted to learn nowadays.  After Biden dropped his re-election bid, the administration disclosed records showing that his son Hunter sought U.S. government handouts for Burisma when Joe Biden was Vice President.  That scandal was buried until Joe Biden was no longer politically relevant.

Is censorship the biggest X factor for this election? Four years ago, the presidential election may have been swung by the coverup of the damning revelations in Hunter Biden’s laptop.  The FBI and the CIA hustled to censor and defuse that story with false rebuttals in October 2020.  According to multiple federal court rulings, federal agencies tampered with the 2020 election by censoring millions of comments by Americans who raised doubts about the trustworthiness of mail-in ballots and other election procedures. Federal judge Terry Doughty noted that  “virtually all of the free speech suppressed was ‘conservative’ free speech.”  A federal appeals court issued an injunction prohibiting federal officials from acting “to coerce or significantly encourage social-media companies to remove, delete, suppress, or reduce . . . posted social-media content containing protected free speech.”

But the Supreme Court refused to recognize that the censorship victims had any legal standing and canceled the injunction.   Americans will likely have no idea how many muzzles and blindfolds were secretly attached by federal agencies and federal contractors before Election Day.

Don’t expect journalists to suddenly get hot to thwart those Biden cover-ups. When the media shrouded Biden’s mental debility, it directly endorsed de facto secret rule. How much effort has the New York Times or Washington Post or National Public Radio exerted to reveal who is actually exercising the supreme power nowadays? Exposing that issue could derail Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign so it is ignored. But ​​​​​Biden is as oblivious as ever. When asked by a reporter on Thursday about the situation in the Hurricane Helene storm zone, Biden replied that those states “are getting everything they need. They are very happy across the board.”

But “informed consent” is a mirage if the feds blindfold voters. As long as Team Biden keeps a lid on its worst outrages until Election Day, Democrats can snare four more year to abuse the Constitution, the law, and the American people. Unfortunately, self-government is not retroactive.

States such as Texas, which have taken steps to limit the surge of illegal migrants — reaching record levels under the Biden administration — are now facing lawsuits from the federal government. Similarly, states that passed laws contradicting the Biden administration’s positions on issues like abortion and gender have faced lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the bills.

The amount of lawsuits the Biden administration has filed is “unprecedented,” Hans​​​​ von Spakovsky, senior legal fellow at the Heritage Foundation’s Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

“And all of them are examples of the DOJ abusing its law enforcement power and infringing on federalism by going after the states,” he said.

The DOJ sued Virginia on Friday over an initiative intended to remove non-citizens from the voter rolls “too close” to the election. Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin called it a “desperate attempt to attack the legitimacy” of the state’s elections.

“With less than 30 days until the election, the Biden-Harris Department of Justice is filing an unprecedented lawsuit against me and the Commonwealth of Virginia, for appropriately enforcing a 2006 law signed by Democrat Tim Kaine that requires Virginia to remove noncitizens from the voter rolls — a process that starts with someone declaring themselves a non-citizen and then registering to vote,” Youngkin said in a statement.

The administration likewise targeted Alabama over an effort to remove noncitizens from the voter rolls. Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen, who announced in August that 3,251 registered voters had been issued noncitizen identification numbers by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), noted the federal government repeatedly denied requests for a list of noncitizens residing in the state.

When the state decided to tackle the issue itself, it was promptly hit with a lawsuit. Removing voters from the state registration list within 90 days of an election violates federal law, the DOJ argued.

Other election litigation include the DOJ’s lawsuits against Arizona in July 2022 over a proof of citizenship voting law and Georgia in June 2021 over an election integrity law.

The Supreme Court allowed Arizona to partially enforce its law in August after the Republican National Committee (RNC) intervened in a separate lawsuit brought by a left-wing activist groups. While the high court rejected a ban on casting ballots for president without proof of citizenship, the majority allowed Arizona to reject state voter registration forms that lack it.

In Georgia, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger suggested the DOJ may have coordinated with activists on the case, requesting documents related to the Department’s decision.

“Given that it is a felony under federal law for an alien to register or vote, DOJ should be applauding the states trying to do something about this problem and helping the states defend lawsuits filed against them instead of suing the states,” von Spakovsky told the DCNF, noting the same is true in the immigration space. “The federal government needs the assistance and help of state governments and state law enforcement to enforce our immigration laws and stop the unlawful flood of illegal aliens coming into the country.”

The Biden DOJ has also taken aggressive action against states attempting to crack down on illegal immigration.

It sued Texas in January over a state law that empowers local authorities to arrest migrants who enter illegally, followed by suing Iowa and Oklahoma in May over similar laws.

In 2012, the Supreme Court held that an Arizona law making it a crime to be in the state without authorization was preempted by federal law.

“There was very little chance of Oklahoma or Texas being successful without overturning Arizona v. US, and maybe that is their objective, but it is hardly improper for the federal government to enforce what the Supreme Court has said are unconstitutional laws infringing on the power of the federal government (however much I disagree with the opinion in Arizona v. United States),” Competitive Enterprise Institute attorney Devin Watkins told the DCNF. “The Supreme Court refused to block the Texas statute on an emergency basis, suggesting that it is at least possible that the Supreme Court may overturn Arizona v. US on appeal.”

Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador accused the Biden administration of ignoring states’ rights when the DOJ brought a lawsuit challenging Idaho’s abortion ban to the Supreme Court.

The administration sued shortly after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, alleging Idaho’s Defense of Life Act prevents doctors from performing abortions in emergency circumstances as they claim is required under federal law. The Supreme Court reinstated limits on the law in June, sending the case back to the lower court without deciding whether the statute conflicted with federal law.

Currently, the DOJ is fighting Tennessee’s ban on child sex change procedures for minors at the Supreme Court.

South Texas College of Law Houston professor Josh Blackman told the DCNF it looks like the Biden DOJ is “trying to initiate as many lawsuits as possible before the election.”

“If Trump wins, it will be hard for [the] DOJ to terminate pending cases,” Blackman said. “It is also possible private groups can move to intervene to keep the cases alive.”

Watkins disagreed that the Biden administration has pursued more litigation than usual, noting lawsuits over voting issues are “actually quite common due to the federal election issues at stake.”

“Overall, I don’t believe that the federal government appears to be filing lawsuits against states any more often during this administration than in previous administrations,” he said. “Some of this litigation could infringe on states’ rights if successful, and in many cases, the federal government should lose, but this litigation isn’t unusual.”

During the Trump administration, the government sued California for a cap and trade agreement with Quebec. It also sued California, New Jersey and King County, Washington, over sanctuary city policies.

“The Trump administration did other things to put pressure on states to change their laws, like the DHS’s suspension of NY’s access to the Global Entry program, or threatening federal payments to local jurisdictions,” Watkins added.

The DOJ did not respond to a request for comment.

Is President Biden so embittered by the forced end of his re-election bid that he’s actively undermining Kamala Harris’ campaign? This question isn’t just rhetorical; a growing chorus of political commentators suggests it’s a reality.

Since being pushed out of the race in July amid concerns over his cognitive fitness, Biden’s support for Harris has been lackluster at best. His endorsement seems to be the extent of his commitment, as he largely remains absent from his vice president’s campaign events.

Biden has repeatedly overshadowed Harris, even going so far as to address the nation about Hurricane Helene just after Harris abruptly canceled a Las Vegas campaign appearance to return to D.C. for the same issue.

The actions of this lame-duck president have provided ample fodder for Trump supporters, who are reveling in his cringe-inducing missteps. From donning a “Trump 2024” cap during a 9/11 commemoration to praising Florida Governor Ron DeSantis amid Harris’ complaints about his unwillingness to take her call, Biden’s choices can only be seen as provocative.

“Biden is intentionally enacting revenge on Kamala for knifing him in the back,” claims Jason Meister, a Republican political strategist who serves on the advisory board for Trump’s campaign.

“He never liked her. The happiest he’s looked in four years was when he put a red [Trump 2024] hat on after speaking with Shanksville, [Pa.] firefighters [last month] on 9/11. He should just come out and endorse Trump.”

The implications of Biden’s actions have not escaped the notice of political insiders. Hank Sheinkopf, a Democratic strategist, notes, “It would be absolutely ridiculous to assume that he has no resentment over how he was treated or how, frankly, he was forced out in what some would describe as a coup.

“Why hasn’t he appeared in places where he could do some good, like parts of Pennsylvania and states that the president has buoyed during his term? Nobody wants to give up being president of the United States – it’s the one job you don’t want to leave.”

Former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy took aim at Biden’s apparent disloyalty, stating, “Somewhere deep down inside, in a place that he doesn’t want to admit, I think maybe Joe Biden is actually rooting for it.

“I think it’s clear that Joe is still bruised by what happened.”

In a further commentary on Biden’s mindset, Ramaswamy said, “I don’t think he would have won [a second term], but in his views, and those of his family, they probably think that they were robbed of it.”

Meanwhile, Trump campaign spokesperson Caroline Sunshine weighed in on the subject. “Harris doesn’t need help sabotaging her campaign because she does that herself every time she speaks without a teleprompter, [but] it’s important to remember there is absolutely no daylight between President Biden and Kamala Harris on policy.

“Kamala Harris has said herself she wouldn’t do a single thing differently these last four years, and our campaign will be reminding voters of this fact every day between now and Nov. 5.”

In response to the mounting criticism, White House spokesman Andrew Bates insisted that critics “seem to have missed” Biden’s commitment to Harris, asserting that he “made clear he was all-in for” her “out of the gate when he left the campaign.

“He believes fiercely in an agenda that will move us into the future, away from unhinged divisiveness and extreme policies the country can’t afford to go back to, like MAGAnomics and a national abortion ban.”

It’s clear that the dynamics of this administration are fraught with tension and possible ulterior motives. As the 2024 election approaches, one cannot help but wonder: Is this the end for Harris, or just the beginning of a deeper rift within the Democratic Party?
