House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan demands information from Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas after stonewalling the committee on Ohio election integrity.
Jordan alleged that the DHS has not complied with Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose’s requests to get federal citizenship information to make sure Ohio voters are U.S. citizens.
LaRose had reportedly made requests in the past for help from the DHS but has not heard back.
Jordan asked in a letter he wrote to Mayorkas when or if the DHS would be responding to LaRose’s requests.
“As Ohio’s chief election officer, Secretary LaRose has the statutory duty to enforce Ohio’s election laws, including adopting the rules for the removal of ineligible voters from statewide voter rolls and ensuring the integrity of Ohio elections,” Jordan’s letter reads. “Accordingly, Secretary LaRose’s statutory obligations require that he maintain a seamless and secure voting process for all lawfully registered citizens in Ohio.” […]
