NBC on Wednesday announced that President-elect Donald Trump is scheduled to sit down with host Kristen Welker this weekend, for his first televised interview since winning the presidential election last month.
The interview is expected to air during “Meet the Press” on Sunday morning, at 10:30 a.m. but highlights will be teased and released before the show. The interview itself will take place on Friday.
A full transcript of the interview will also be publicly available on Sunday.
Welker previously interviewed Trump in 2023, where they discussed the border and illegal immigration. They also outlined his plans for a second administration.
It is not clear what the interview will entail, but it comes as Trump announces critical members of his next administration, including his presidential Cabinet. Some of those nominees have come under fire, including his nominee for Defense Secretary, and face scrutiny in the Senate. […]
