President-elect Donald Trump’s “Border Czar” is going to be on the lookout for federal employees who may work to undermine his efforts to shore up the southern border.
Tom Homan laid out his plan to detect potential landmines that President Joe Biden’s administration could be setting during an interview with The Daily Wire’s Cabot Phillips and Mary Margaret Olohan at Turning Point USA’s America Fest in Phoenix, Arizona.
“They’re working very closely with the NGOs and other groups to try to increase the sanctuary city presence,” he explained, “they’re talking to major governors and mayors to try to thwart our efforts and a lot more mayors and governors speaking out say they’re going to try to prevent us from doing this job. They’re still flying thousands in every day.”
“I would think they [would] learn a lesson from the election,” Homan said. “They’re pouting. They’re mad. They’re kicking and screaming. You know what? Do what you want to do. Try to prevent us. We’re going to get this done with or without them. It’s coming. … We’ll crash through the roadblocks. We’re not going to let these people shut this down. We’re going to get this done.”
As for whether he has concerns about bad actors within his future department that will be working against him to put a stop to his handling of the border crisis, Homan was straightforward and to the point. […]
