House Republicans led by Speaker Mike Johnson passed the Trump-backed budget resolution along party lines. Congressman Thomas Massie was the lone Nay on the Republican side, citing not enough cuts to balance the budget.

Included in the bill were major cuts that President Trump had promised on the campaign trail, including no taxes on tips or Social Security. According to Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna:
