“Emilia Pérez” star Karla Sofía Gascón is a man who claims to be a “transgender woman.”
When the Academy Awards committee announced the nominees on Thursday morning, he became the first man in history to be nominated for a women’s Oscar.
Gascón, 52, will be up for the Oscar for “Best Actress” alongside Cynthia Erivo (“Wicked”), Mikey Madison (“Anora”), Demi Moore (“The Substance”), and Fernanda Torres (“I’m Still Here”).
