Patriot Mobile is introducing the UP Phone, a purportedly privacy-centered, secure smartphone alternative.
“The UP Phone is a revolutionary new smartphone that sets a new standard in mobile phone technology privacy. The Unplugged Up Suite includes encrypted messaging, secure app store, VPN, and anonymized shielded data,” a press release states.
“The UP phone is a privacy-first, secure smartphone designed by cybersecurity professionals for everyday consumer use,” said Glenn Story, Patriot Mobile’s CEO. “Our customers were asking for encrypted email and texting, secure storage, and a phone free from Google or Apple tracking. According to the press release, the UP Phone offers users a similar experience to Android phones but without the “pervasive surveillance” associated with other smartphones. UP Phones use the LibertOS operating system built on the Android Open Source Project.
